You Don't Love Me
George Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know (I know) you don't love me no more
No more (no more) no no more (no more)
And I don't want to be hurt anymore
(No more) anymore (no more)
Yeah yeah I have loved so hard
Everything I did was no dard
If I can't love you right baby
I don't have to love you at all

I know (I know) you don't want me no more
No more (no more) no no more (no more)
And it has to be someone else lovin' you more
(No more) lovin' you more (no more)
Ain't no use in me cryin' now
If not for you I wouldn't be down
Since you don't want me no more baby
Ain't no use in you hangin' round

I know no more, no more
No more, no more

I know (I know) you don't want me no more
No more (no more) no no more (no more)
And it has to be someone else lovin' you more
(No more) lovin' you more (no more)
Ain't no use in me cryin' now
If not for you I wouldn't be down
Since you don't want me no more baby

Ain't no use in you hangin' round
I know (I know) I know (I know)

Overall Meaning

In the lyrics to George’s song You Don’t Love Me, the singer acknowledges that their love interest no longer has feelings for them. They express their reluctance to continue experiencing the pain that comes with loving someone who does not love them in return. The singer declares that they have loved with their whole heart, but they cannot continue in this situation. They suggest that if they cannot love the person properly, then they will rather not love them at all.

The singer further acknowledges that their love interest is now into someone else, and it is evident that this new person is loved more. The singer sees no point in crying over the situation as the person they love has already moved on. They assert that if not for the person, they wouldn't be in their current emotional state. In turn, the singer implies that it is best for their love interest to leave them alone now that they have no feelings for each other.

The lyrics of You Don’t Love Me delve into the theme of unrequited love and the pain that comes with it. The lines also convey a sense of bitterness, suggesting that the singer has gone through a lot of hurt and no longer wants to be a part of that toxic dynamic.

There is no doubt that George Michael was one of the best vocalists that ever lived.

@davidbrittain3212

For me, the best. Nobody else come close, male or female.

Two ARTISTS that do it for me, one I found on YouTube over 5yrs ago, her name, the magical voice of MORISSETTE AMON LAMAR from the Philippines and one guy who has always been magical to the music world, the brilliant and sadly missed GEORGE MICHAEL, your music lives on 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

@amriaye7593

George and Luther vandross my absolute favourite

@steveheckle8847

@@amriaye7593 you should take a listen to MORISSETTE AMON LAMAR mate she's absolutely brilliant, she's like so easy on the ears with a personality to die for, for a Filipino her English enunciation in her songs is perfection, the only problem is she is an independent artist who won't submit to the big corporate music industry in fear of not being allowed to be herself which unfortunately is not based on talent anymore but rather image based, she's an old school singer despite only being 27yrs old, she mesmerises an audience with her whole persona, personality, charisma with a voice that no one can even come close to 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

@@amriaye7593Perfect, Luther Vandross, such a magical voice. Another all time favourite of mine is Jeff Buckley.
