While a first album (entitled Better Than the Rest) was recorded in 1974, the major recording debut came with the release of the eponymous album 'George Thorogood & The Destroyers', released in 1977 (Better Than the Rest was eventually released in 1979). The next album, entitled Move It On Over, was released in the autumn of 1978 and included the hit "Move It On Over" . Other singles from the album included "Please Set A Date" and "Who Do You Love".
During the 1980s, and 1990s, the band recorded some of their most well-known works, "Bad to the Bone" (used to great effect during the bar scene in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and in the opening scene of John Carpenter's Christine), "I Drink Alone" (from the 'Maverick' album), "You Talk Too Much", and "If You Don't Start Drinking, I'm Gonna Leave".
Thorogood himself is best-known for his animated stage presence and loud, raucous electric slide guitar playing. He is also known as "Lonesome George".

I roll both day and night
I'm a steady rollin' man
Hmm hmm, I roll both day and night
But I haven't got no sweet woman
Hmm mmm , boys, to be rollin' this-a way
I'm the man that rolls
I'm the man that rolls
When icicles is hangin' on the tree
And now you hear me howlin', baby
Hmm hmm mmm, down on my bended knee
I'm a hard workin' man
Have been for many years, I know
I'm a hard workin' man
Have been for many long years, I know
And some cream puff's usin' my money
Ooh well, babe, but that'll never be no more
You can't give your sweet woman
Everything she wants in one time
Ooh hoo, you can't give your sweet woman
Everything she wants in one time
Well, boys, she get ramblin' in her brain
Hmm mmm mmm, some monkey man on
Her mind
I'm a steady rollin' man
Hmm mmm, boys, to be rollin' this-a way
The song I'm A Steady Rollin' Man by George Thorogood & The Destroyers is a classic example of a blues song. Its simple rhythm and repetition of certain phrases reflect the old-school blues approach that focuses on raw emotions and storytelling. The lyrics appear to talk about a man who is always on the move, traveling day and night without any rest. He is the man who keeps rolling even when the weather is harsh and unforgiving, such as when icicles are hanging from trees. However, in spite of all his efforts, he hasn't found a sweet woman to be with him on his journey. He's working hard and has been for a long time, and he's tired of other people using his money. The lyrics demonstrate the challenges and struggles that the blues artists faced in their daily lives.
The song is about more than just a man who is always on the move. It's a metaphor for life itself. Rolling is a metaphor for progress, whether it be emotional or physical, and this man is always moving forward. He's been at it for years and knows that the journey never really ends. The song has certain elements that reflect the blues tradition, such as its instrumentation and the emotion conveyed by the lyrics. It also has a classic call and response structure with the lead singer and backing vocals, showing how deeply rooted the blues is in the African-American musical tradition.

There's a lot of old blues and rock out there, but this song comes closest to the AC/DC style IMHO. Pure, simple back beat, straight-forward. And I love it!
