Many people at first, didn't like the ending to God of War III. I thought it was the right ending. An excellent ending, as a matter of fact. Sad, but powerful. This music reflects that as well.

@hatchhyjack Same here. I started playing god of war 1 when I was 13. now I am 27 and listening to the osts while training or cleaning the house. It influenced me a lot but not in the bad way as some people say that kratos was a meat head. This franchise is one of the best ever and it won’t be easy to replicate such awesomeness again

Who says kratos is dead anyway? After the credits you don't see his body ... only a trail of blood going over the edge of olympus. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a gow 4 someday.

@MarkTheTormentor884 I liked the ending, because it proved that Kratos wasn't the bad guy after all. His need for vengeance DID leave the world to revert into Chaos. But he sacrificed himself, so that the world can start anew. In a way, Kratos saved the world. And Athena did not mean too much good, actually. As the only Olympian left, she could be considered the "One" God. Like in Christianity. To avoid her from taking over the world, Kratos released hope. He prevented the worst from happening.

@DevilRebellion Yeah, I was surprized at first, but after thinking about it, Kratos did the right thing. Killing himself and giving the power of "hope" to what's left of the world. True Athena meant well, but she WAS Olympian, and after all was said and done, proves it's a arduous task to trust the Gods.

its was an awesome game, sad that the story department took a great shit all over kratos. the last hour of the game was PATHETIC. GoW 1 is still the best in the series.

@DevilRebellion You said everything I wanted to say and more. I also thought it was a great ending. Showing him as a Hero for once. Repenting for all he did, and preventing Athena from trying to be a One God god like Christianity (too bad no one stopped that for us, :P) and Islamic, etc. I really want to see a GOW 4. Maybe Kratos brother and Athena can become new antagonists for Kratos. I also get the feeling Kratos will have a slight attitude change where he'll be more merciful in later games.

@AxnAkshan yes, the first scene in GOW1 is Kratos trying to commit suicide. But you have to play the game to understand what happens.

@DevilRebellion Good idea? They might help one another because they are what is remaining and want to stop Kratos from destroying everything ((Wrongly)believing him to wish to destroy it all). So that might be possible. That could also expand some things for the series. Epic. And true. Zeus gave you the Bolt in 1, then gave you the BoO, took it away, then you took it back and faught him twice. And Cronos gave you a power in 2, and was a boss in 3 as well. Good ideas, man.

@DevilRebellion Hey, I haven't played earlier GOW series, nor completed any before GOW3 but, here's an excerpt from Wikipedia on GOW 1 : The game begins with Kratos, committing suicide by jumping off a cliff into the Aegean Sea. As he plummets to the rocks below, the game's story is told through a series of flashbacks. Sooo doesn't he die and all GOWs are flashbacks?

@DevilRebellion True, true. That's something I didn't think of. Atlas and Artemis could be bosses for later, or power givers... No, the latter wouldn't work. They gave Kratos powers once in GOW 1 and 2, so that wouldn't work. I'd like to see Artemis as a boss, though.

@vgman94 You never know what will happen after God of War 3. We can only wait to find out. Personally, I want to know what happened to Atlas and Artemis. They were both in at least one game in the series, but not God of War 3. What happened to them?

I think you are right cuase gow1 have all the story, the best ending ,the best starting ,BUT gow3 wasn't so good , things good about it are technology and ost,I think that the graphics in the cut sences in gow1 is amazing but the graphics of the game play arenot that good if they made a gow4 with an epic story like gow1 they will be named as the legend makers!!!!!! NOTE!;prehaps they will open gow4 with the narrtour saying;this is not the end! ;the fate of kratos was not as it seemed!

@vgman94 Just because they gave u powers in older games, doesnt mean they cant in future installments. Hades gave u a spell in GoW 1 and a weapon in GoW 3. If u ask me, if theres ever some god of war 3 expansion pack, the new weapon should be Blade of Artemis. And you know how every weapon has its own spell in god of war 3? Well, Blade of Artemis spell can be Atlas Quake. Get it? You get weapon from Artemis and spell from Atlas. And it can be a two-part boss, where u fight both at the same time.

u guys realize god of war has to be the best game ever to get 10. like ocarina of time got a ten then mgs4 got a ten. though this game is beast and epic the other games stories and plots were better but either god of war 3 is going to be game of the year.

@Gamer94000 why not bought the trilogy? now it suxs to play 1 and 2 i own 1 and 2 for ps2 when they first came out still got the trilogy just to understand the story a lil better and i played it in one sitting XD yes people 20 hours afterwards i was like wow 0.0 it felt like 1 game and when i went to bed i put the music on lolz best game ever

SPOILERS.......kratos kill all the gods and zeus himself...then athena wants the power that kratos earn to govern the earth but kratos kill himself so the time of gods will end and humans could be free from gods that is why there are no more mithologycal creatures or gods...so this was a really good final for the god of war saga. and if they made another god of war like 4 i hope it has a really good continue
