GitS is my favourite anime of all time!
Especially Stand Alone Complex!
But if someone would force me to decide between First Season, 2nd GIG and Solid State Society, I'd chose 2nd GIG in a heartbeat! The story, the characters, the music... it's just perfect!

Which is why it's kinda sucks that after seeing how hard Kuze worked and struggled to help the refugees reach freedom and independency, the sequels (Solid State and 2045) didn't show us what happened to Dejima.
Did Kuze (if its possible that he actually didn't die and uploaded himself to the Net) manage to bring that 3 milllion people into cyberspace and the artificial island (some time later) became a ghost town? Did Dejima become an independent state and started to prosper the way the people who lived there (including that 3 million who may not went into cyberspace) wanted?

I've heard rumors that Solid State was suppose to be a full lenght Third Season, but Production I.G. didn't have the budget for it. If that's the case, I wonder if Mr. Kamiyama would've planned to show us some post-2nd GIG Dejima scenes.

I actually would've loved to see a scene where Motoko goes to Dejima after the events of 2nd GIG and visits a memorial/statue of Kuze (built by the refugees) and leaves a paper crane there, while in the background showing us some developments/improvements building up for the island.

14 years later....still this opening looks more impressive that dozens of modern anime openings, and Origa song just put this in a GOD TIER level in timeless.

First I was like it's like The Matrix urh. But then they said it in the show "this is the asian matrix". Also great news they are moving to ban anything deemed as child porn (the young characters fools). Which means we are returning to the glory days of adult characters! I'm so sick of shows staring high school children! I hope they don't see the tachikomas as child porn comrades!
