I'm Nothingness
God Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You came from far beyond me
From far beyond seasons and leaves
From beyond my pagan dreams
And my own spoken desire...

You came from a place
Where my thoughts never took shape
From far beyond failed illusions
From a "beyond" I could never imagine

A place where I thought I was dead
You were coming...and true your coming was
From an imagined apocalypse towards happiness!

Inside you I'd like to get lost
And be reborn as I never thought I could be
You were walking...I believed you did not walk
You were watching me...I believed your eyes were shut
You were smiling...I couldn't believe you were crying
You were tempting...tempting me into deadly lust

On the path of the passing autumns
You were coming with my God...
Your coming was the autumn of my life
Solitude you brought, the darkness in my eyes

When nothing belongs to me
And i belong to nothingness!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "I'm Nothingness" by God speak of someone or something that has come from a place beyond the singer's understanding. This force has the power to bring the singer out of darkness and into happiness, tempting them with "deadly lust." The singer is willing to give themselves entirely to this force, saying "inside you I'd like to get lost and be reborn as I never thought I could be." However, this force also brings about a sense of solitude and darkness in the singer's life. They come to the realization that "nothing belongs to me" and they "belong to nothingness." Overall, the lyrics seem to convey a deep sense of longing for connection and meaning.

In a mother’s womb were two babies. One asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?”The other replied, “Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”
“Nonsense,” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?”
The second said, “I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can’t understand now.”
The first replied, “That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.”
The second insisted, “Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore.”
The first replied, “Nonsense. And moreover, if there is life, then why has no one ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery, there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”
“Well, I don’t know,” said the second, “but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.”
The first replied “Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now?”
The second said, “She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her, this world would not and could not exist.”
Said the first: “Well I don’t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn’t exist.”
To which the second replied, “Sometimes, when you’re in silence and you focus and listen, you can perceive Her presence, and you can hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.”
Maybe this was one of the best explanations of the concept of GOD.

Mark Twain said, "I'm not afraid of death. I was dead for billions of years before I was born, and it didn't inconvenience me in the slightest."

@johnhough7738

If so, he was quoting me in a kind of a way — I tell anyone (that can be bothered listening) "You are just as dead after you die as you were for all eternity before you were conceived." Very few do anything but gape at me ...

@danthemansmail

Good one.

@@johnhough7738yes Mark Twain was quoting you

@UneducatedPhysicist

Plus the place we live in is infinite and recycles everything so we'll do this all again. It might take an extremely long time from one perspective, but from our perspective it will be the blink of an eye. We probably have done all of this once before.

Funny how for fleeting moments I'll really get it, and I find there's nothing to do but laugh.

@phoenixasterapollo8472

Is it like profound crazy type laugh with added feeling of freedom of all worries anxieties, free of physical success, free of hate for anything due to it being perfect to what it is ,, . I cnt explain the true madness to thst feeling in the fleeting moment,

What I do think along side it when observing the whole earth racing in my mind is,,, How we can take it all too serious sometimes ,, I have one word to describe our evolution in this moment.. , , ,,

its cute 😂😂😂 .

@Steve-si8hx
