The fourth album Seventh Tree placed a greater emphasis on ambient and downtempo music, drawing inspiration from nature and paganism, while their fifth album, Head First, found the group exploring 1980s-influenced synthpop. Head First also earned the second Grammy Award nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2010. Goldfrapp released their critically acclaimed sixth studio album, the folktronica-influenced Tales of Us, in September 2013. Goldfrapp released their seventh studio album, Silver Eye, in March 2017, which debuted at number six on the UK Albums Chart.

Harmony and peace of mind
Make you better
We're here to welcome you
We're all on a journey to
Finding the real inner you
Make you better (make you better)
Time stops to whir
You've lost life
[Chorus]
Happiness
How did you get to be
Happiness
How did you get to find
Love, real love
Love, love, love
Footing in the magic world
Donate all your money we'll
Make it better (make it better)
We're here to welcome you
We can see a troubled soul
Give us all your money we'll
Make it better (make it better)
We're here to welcome you
Time stops to whir
You've lost life
[Chorus]
We'll be swimming in the sea
Of wisdom and serenity
Make you better
[Chorus:Repeat x4]
The lyrics of Goldfrapp's "Happiness" express the idea of a cult or group promising a better life, love, and happiness to those who join them. The opening lines "Join our group and you will find, harmony and peace of mind, make you better, we're here to welcome you" suggest that the group is actively seeking new members and making promises of a better life. The lyrics then continue to speak about the journey towards finding the "real inner you," with the promise that the group will make you better.
The pre-chorus "Time stops to whir, you've lost life" could be interpreted as a metaphor for the way that those who join the group are being convinced to give up their own thoughts and ideas in favor of those of the group. The chorus then asks the question "Happiness, how did you get to be happiness?" with the implication that the group holds the key to achieving happiness. The repeated refrain of "love, real love" suggests that the group is selling the idea of a community where everyone loves and supports each other.
The second verse continues the cult-like rhetoric, with the line "Footing in the magic world, donate all your money we'll, make it better." This line could be interpreted as a call for financial donations to support the group's activities, or as a warning about how those who join the group may be financially exploited. The chorus then repeats the questions about how to achieve happiness and real love, with the promise that being part of the group will provide answers.

Thanks for (some of) the comments guys haha! I am the jumping man, this video was a lot of fun to shoot, and painful! It has 6 cuts and took 13 hours! Each cut was filmed about 10 times! And yes, the fake smile was mostly to hide my breathing and shin splints!! Glad the video brings happiness to people! Hope you all have a great NYE!! x

You're amazing, George! Did you see that Hugh Jackman attempted to do the same reenactment of the scene from Small Town Girl (1953) as the opening of the 2014 Tony Awards? It failed enormously by comparison!! :)
George Foster
Thanks Bernadette!! No I didn't see it! I've seen the original scene in the Small Town Girl film with Bobby Van though! It's was great!
Dominic Eredia
I also have seen the original scene from Funny Girl, I felt that you did as qreat as Bobby Van. I'm sure that it was painful but to do. I believe the reason that Hugh Jackmams' reenactment failed was because they were not very familiar with the movie. No matter you and Jack keep entertaining us, your fans:-)
