Coming together in 2006 to perform at a Christmas concert, they subsequently decided to continue working together, releasing their debut EP, Oh My, in 2007. They released their first full-length album, The Good Lovelies, in 2009, and followed up with the Christmas-themed EP Under the Mistletoe later the same year.
"Let the Rain Fall" was released in 2011, and "Burn the Plan" in 2015.
In February 2018 Good Lovelies released the digital version of their album, "Shapeshifters", which featured a shift from their usual folk to a more pop music sound.
"Evergreen" followed in 2019 and "We Will Never Be The Same " in 2023.
Waiting For You
Good Lovelies Lyrics

It′s a heartbeat pulsing through a crowd
There in the middle you will find me
It's a wonder, deep as thunder
I′m in love with you
Standing at the back of the line
I'll be waiting for you, waiting for you
Lately, like we're on a spinning wheel
There is never just a word for how I feel
You are an anchor in the dreaming
It′s a wonder, deep as thunder
I′m in love with you
I'm in love with you
Standing at the back of the line
I′ll be waiting for you, waiting for you
I know I'm not wasting my time
I′ll be waiting for you, waiting for you
I'm in love with you
I′m in love with you
(Standing at the back of the line)
I'll be waiting for you, waiting for you
I know I'm not wasting my time
I′ll be waiting for you, waiting for you
Standing at the back of the line
(Standing at the window)
(Look into the morning)
(Holding onto something, waiting for you)
Waiting for you
(Standing at the window)
(Look in to the morning)
(Holding onto something, waiting for you)
Waiting for you
(Standing at the window)
(Look in to the morning)
(Holding onto something, waiting for you)
Waiting for you
(Standing at the window)
(Look in to the morning)
(Holding onto something, waiting for you)
Waiting for you
Standing at the back of the line
I′ll be waiting for you, waiting for you
I know I'm not wasting my time
I′ll be waiting for you, waiting for you
Standing at the back of the line
I'll be waiting for you, waiting for you
I know I′m not wasting my time
I'll be waiting for you, waiting for you

The feeling is as deep as thunder, a wonder that can't be put into words.
The next part of the song talks about waiting for someone. Love is a never-ending spinning wheel, but the lover is an anchor in the storm. The singer is standing at the back of the line, waiting patiently for the person she loves. She knows she's not wasting her time because the love she feels is real and intense.
Overall, the lyrics of Waiting for You are about the deep and overwhelming feelings of love. The singer is willing to wait for her lover because she knows that what they have is worth it. The song is a testament to the power of love and the hope that it brings.

This is a great tune, thanks Indie 88 for showing us this Canadian gem
Canada Sucks eh?
Shit! You mean to tell me that indie 88 actually played something other than Blister in the Sun/Nirvana/David Bowie for a change?
Don't get me wrong, I love the throwbacks as much as the next old fart pining for a simpler time, but, when indie 88 started out, they played a lot of stuff you wouldn't hear on 102.1, unless it was on the indie hour. It was great. Then they "discovered" Nirvana, and Greenday, and Violent Femmes, and, Weezer, and, played them like it was 1994 all over again. I listen to everything, but you can only listen to "oldies" radio for so long before it gets...old. They "discovered" Bowie after he died, and added him to the rotation as well. Gone are the lesser known gems, especially the extremely talented Canadian artists, which I tuned in to hear.
In the past year or so, that station has ruined a lot of songs and bands/artists I once loved, with their highly selective (narrow and overplayed) "Kmart greatest hits CD" playlists. They're almost as bad as boom 97.3.
As much as I hate the CBC, they get the credit for introducing me to the soothing, velvety harmonies of these extremely talented ladies.
