Just a Little Bit
Graceland Feat. Billie Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A little bit later on
A little bit later on
Just wait and you'll see
How lonely you'll be
A little bit later on

Just wait till you start missin'
My huggin' and my kissin'
Now, baby, better listen
You'll be cryin', boo, hoo, hoo

A little bit later on
You're gonna wake up some day
And open your eyes
To a great big surprise, baby

Don't forget it
You'll regret it
After I'm gone

You'd better think twice
It won't be so nice
A little bit later on

Oh, a little bit later on
Say you're gonna wake up some day
And open your eyes
To a great big surprise, my baby

Don't forget it
You'll regret it
After I'm gone

You'd better think twice

It won't be so nice
A little bit later on

Overall Meaning

The song "Just A Little Bit" by Graceland feat. Billie is about warning someone about the consequences of taking their love for granted. The lyrics talk about the idea of someone realizing too late that they had something good and losing it. The singer encourages the person to wait and see what will happen if they continue to neglect the love they've been given.

The chorus line "A little bit later on, you're gonna wake up some day and open your eyes to a great big surprise" is the central theme of the song. The singer is essentially saying that the person will eventually come to a point where they will regret losing their love, but by then it will be too late. The lyrics are trying to urge the person to appreciate the love they have while they still have it.

The song has a slightly humorous tone to it, which adds to its overall impact. The singer taunts the person by saying "You'll be cryin', boo, hoo, hoo" and warns "Don't forget it, you'll regret it after I'm gone." The song is a classic example of a warning being given in a playful manner.

Sad this only has 326 views. A well-written track, released in 2005. Although long out of print, there are some places where the vinyl can be found. This is a smooth groove that nicely represents the early 2000's era of deep, soulful house, a discreet genre still supported by a small but passionate international community of producers, DJ's, dancers, and loungers.
