Behrendt was a consultant for two 2001 episodes of the popular television show Sex and the City, and co-wrote the New York Times best sellers He's Just Not That Into You and It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken. He has appeared regularly on The Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. His stand up special, Greg Behrendt is Uncool, debuted on Comedy Central in January of 2006. In June 2006, he appeared on Celebrity Poker Showdown, playing for a domestic violence charity (he came in second in the tournament).
In his early years, Greg started doing stand-up and improv comedy in San Francisco. He was once a member of "Crash and Burn", an improv comedy ensemble whose members included Margaret Cho.
Greg premiered his own daily daytime talk show called The Greg Behrendt Show on Tuesday, September 12, 2006. He currently does a weekly podcast with close friend and fellow stand up comedian Dave Anthony called Walking The Room.
Behrendt is currently living in Los Angeles with his wife, Amiira Ruotola-Behrendt, and their two children.
