He is best known for performing in The Allman Brothers Band. He was born and spent much of his childhood in Nashville, Tennessee, before relocating to Daytona Beach, Florida. He and his brother, Duane Allman, developed an interest in music in their teens, and began performing in the Allman Joys in the mid-1960s. In 1967, they relocated to Los Angeles and were renamed the Hour Glass, releasing two albums for Liberty Records. In 1969, he and Duane regrouped to form the Allman Brothers Band, which settled in Macon, Georgia.
The Allman Brothers Band began to reach mainstream success by the early 1970s, with their live album At Fillmore East representing a commercial and artistic breakthrough. Shortly thereafter, Duane was killed in a motorcycle crash in 1971. The following year, the band's bassist, Berry Oakley was also killed in a motorcycle accident very close to the location of Duane's wreck. Their 1973 album Brothers and Sisters became their biggest hit, and Allman pursued a solo career afterward, releasing his debut album, Laid Back the same year. Internal turmoil took over the group, leading to a 1975 breakup. Allman was married to pop star Cher for the rest of the decade, while he continued his solo career with the Gregg Allman Band. After a brief Allman Brothers reunion and a decade of little activity, he reached an unexpected peak with the hit single "I'm No Angel" in 1987. After two more solo albums, the Allman Brothers reformed for a third and final time in 1989, and continued performing until 2014. He released his most recent solo album, Low Country Blues, in 2011, and his next, Southern Blood, is set to be released in 2017.
For his work in music, Allman was referred to as a Southern rock pioneer and received numerous awards, including several Grammys; he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. His distinctive voice placed him in 70th place in the Rolling Stone list of the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time". Allman released an autobiography, My Cross to Bear, in 2012.
Allman died in Savannah, Georgia, on May 27, 2017.
I'm No Angel
Gregg Allman Lyrics

I've got my label, So I won't crumble at your feet
And I know baby, So I've got scars upon my cheek
And I'm half crazy, Come on and love me baby
So you find me hard to handle, well I'm easier to hold
So you like my spurs that jingle and I never leave you cold
So I might steal your diamonds I'll bring you back some gold
No I'm no angel, No I'm no stranger to the dark
Let me rock your cradle, Let me start a fire with your spark
Oh come on baby, Come and let me show you my tatoo
Let me drive you crazy, Come on and love me baby
So you don't give a darn about me, I never treat you bad
I won't ever lift a hand to hurt you & I'll always leave you glad
So I might steal your diamonds I'll bring you back some gold
I'm no angel
LEAD
No I'm no angel, No I'm no stranger to the dark
Let me rock your cradle, Let me start a fire with your spark
Oh come on baby, Come and let me show you my tatoo
Let me drive you crazy, Come on and love me baby
In Gregg Allman's "I'm No Angel," the singer makes no pretenses of being a perfect or pure individual. He declares that he is neither an angel nor a stranger to the street, referring to his past and present life experiences. However, he also claims to have a label, indicating that he has become accustomed to his lifestyle and will not crumble under pressure. The singer acknowledges that his life's journey has not been easy, as symbolized by his scars. Nevertheless, he remains half-crazy and asks the listener to love him just the same.
The singer then tries to persuade his lover that he is not difficult to handle and offers himself as a complement to her being. He mentions his spurs that jingle and promises never to leave her cold, indicating that he is attentive to her needs. He acknowledges the possibility of taking something valuable from her, but insists that he will bring something of value back, emphasizing that he is not a complete miscreant. The singer declares that he is comfortable in the dark and offers to be the lover's protector, to light up her world with passion, and to share his life by revealing a tattoo. He acknowledges that he may even drive her crazy, but insists that the outcome will be desirable and asks the lover to come and love him.

I typically don’t do this, but WOW!! What a great message!!
And now we have no gas......
Keep in mind... The Anti Christ comes before the Rapture. I have studied the Bible a lot in my life, in many different forms and it really does always come down to this. I have been hearing about the second coming of Christ and the events unfolding since I was a kid. The "Mark of the Beast", microchips, no cash/just plastic, Martial Law, TOTAL Government dependency/control. When we are raising a family, working long hours, some two jobs, lots of things go unnoticed or just get ignored.
No one can comprehend how bad it will be til it is. We have NEVER been told to stay home, quit work and rely on the Government. We are seeing a lot of "firsts" since January. Can our minds and bodies handle what's coming?
Not without God - I wonder what doctor they will have on the news explaining the Rapture and the disappearance of so many people? I won’t be here for it but it’s just a thought.
While the devil is preparing people for the Anti Christ, God is preparing people for the Rapture. I don’t know when the Rapture will take place but I do believe it could be soon. And I KNOW that I won’t be left behind when that trumpet sounds!
I also believe right now that God is giving us a chance to repent. We need to get the Gospel message out!!! Until the Good Lord calls me away from this world to go home, I want to make it clear that I believe in Jesus Christ as the one and only True Lord and Savior. Despite the fact that I am human, and I fail a lot, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He came as a baby, I believe that He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins and that He rose from the dead on the third day and He is in Heaven preparing a place for all those who believe and trust Him as their Savior.
He loves us all dearly (far more than we deserve) and forgives our sins when we repent. His Word says John 3:16 "whosoever believeth in Me, shall not perish but have ever lasting life.”
The Bible also says Matthew 10:33 "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which art in heaven”.
This is the best challenge I have seen on Facebook; so, if the Holy Spirit moves you and you’re not ashamed, just copy, and make this as your status update.
Can I get an Amen for being a believer in God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit? Amen!

This was the love of my life & my song! Like Gregg Allman he's no longer with us. He was a Golf War vet & suffered from PTSD & Golf War Syndrome, which is likely what killed him at age 53. May you rest in peace my angel Rick!

If there ever was a beautiful man, Gregg Allman was such a person. As well as being easy on the eyes, his rough voice was melodious for the ears.

Sad Gregg is gone. One of the best male vocals ever to touch a microphone. Miss him. Humans lost something when Gregg left. Love ya Sir😥
