I'll Prove It To You
Gregory Abbott Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
there's no doubt the message is clear
a man in love, so helplessly
girl forever I want you near
there's been times that I haven't shown
how strongly I feel for you
your the best thing I've ever known
and I wanna tell you so you know it
I'll prove it to you you starting tonight
I'll take my time you'll see
you'll have gotten all your questions answered
whoa I'll prove it to you
So many words I should have said
I let the moment fade away
me occupied inside my head
waiting for another day
If only I could re-write my lines...
The above lyrics are from Gregory Abbott's song I'll Prove It To You. This song expresses the love of a man towards a girl, emphasizing his desire to be with her forever. The first verse begins by asking the girl to look into his eyes, to see the sincerity and clarity of his message. He admits to being a man helplessly in love with her, professing that he wants her near him always. The next lines, however, suggest that there have been times when he has failed to express his love adequately. Nevertheless, he makes a vow to show his love in every way possible, reminding her that she is the best thing he has ever known, and he wants her to know it.
The second verse expresses his regret about failing to express his feelings to her before. He believes that he has let the moment fade away by being too occupied inside his head and waiting for another day. The lyrics suggest that he is now ready to make amends and correct his mistakes. In the chorus, he promises to prove his love to her, starting from that moment. He intends to take his time and answer all her questions, thereby substantiating his love for her. The repeat line of 'I'll Prove It To You' emphasizes his determination to make things right and restore their relationship.
Overall, the song conveys a message of love, regret, and determination. Gregory Abbott's smooth and soulful voice, coupled with the instrumentation, makes the song even more significant, amplifying the emotion behind the lyrics.

Better management.
@marieparker2162
@@santarosahero, I don't think he wanted to be managed. From what I understand he was also a professor of English and music at UC Berkeley and Stanford. Seems like he wasn't interested longterm fame.
