Opinion
Harmful Lyrics

Sit down... try to keep on the path with me It won´t take long to stop
You pass by, no supply... your obstructive reasons Don´t treat me like a problem
Do you really want me to... are you really able to commit on more than one opinion
Sit down... try to keep on the path with me It won´t take long to stop
You pass by, no supply... your obstructive reasons Don´t treat me like a problem
Do you really want me to... are you really able to commit on more than one opinion

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to the song "Opinion" by Harmful seem to address the issue of people imposing their opinions onto others, in a way that is obstructive and disrespectful. The singer urges the listener to keep on the path with them, as it won't take long to stop. The listener is apparently someone who has different opinions and who doesn't provide any supporting facts or reasons to back them up. The singer seems frustrated with this behavior and demands to know if the listener is really able to commit to more than one opinion.

The overall theme of the song seems to be about the importance of free thinking and the dangers of blindly following others' opinions. The singer is asking the listener to be open-minded and to offer positive contributions to the conversation. They don't want to be treated like a problem, nor do they want to be talked over or dismissed. Overall, the lyrics suggest that people should be willing to listen to others' opinions without forcing their own onto them.

Sit down... try to keep on the path with me It won´t take long to stop
I am inviting you to join me on this journey, and I encourage you to stay focused and committed, as it won't be long until we see the results.

You pass by, no supply... your obstructive reasons Don´t treat me like a problem
I notice that you are not contributing anything to this discussion or project, and your negative attitude is hindering progress. Please don't treat me as if I am the issue.

Do you really want me to... are you really able to commit on more than one opinion
I am questioning whether you truly want my input and perspective, or if you are only interested in hearing opinions that align with your own. Additionally, I am unsure if you are capable of considering and committing to multiple ideas or viewpoints.

I feel like his argument involves a lot more personal attacks than actual points being made. And when he does try to make a point, a lot of the time it boils down to an oversimplification of what fighting games are about. This often just basically tells you to “just deal with it”, without taking into consideration how fighting games evolve in the first place.

I would be careful with attempting to discourage criticisms of characters/moves, because that’s how they become more refined. These questions should always be asked and discussed, not shut down because you’re just supposed to find a solution and deal with it. Do they also think buffs and nerfs are unnecessary, since it’s okay as long as there’s a solution? Or does this logic only apply when it’s most convenient? Very confusing to me.

This obviously doesn’t mean Nina should be nerfed, but this video was originally made to counter someone who made a video about dealing with Nina, and this guy responded with more general concepts that are pretty problematic when you try to apply them across the board.

Overall not the right way to go about challenging ideas imo. This seemed like more of a quick emotional response, rather than one that really broke down concepts and rationalized their own thoughts. Missed the point here and there and threw out quick jabs that don’t really hold up under scrutiny.

- Also I forgot to mention the sort of gatekeeping/somewhat elitist mentality of “don’t like it? Don’t play”. These sort of responses are just more “quick jabs”, they don’t actually challenge an argument and are just made to shut you down. He also sometimes takes statements and stretches them out with his own assumptions, drawing conclusions about how someone feels even though they never made that point. Also mentions early on that wavedashing is hard, and then uses wavedash as an example to say it’s hypocritical to suggest Nina can be hard to defend for how easy some moves/strings are to do. Kind of all over the place.

Prince of Power

Other people have been nicer to this guy, but honestly I can't stand people like him. He acts like he doesn't understand what you're saying, but he understands perfectly however this has likely carried him to decent ranks.

Not every character has those kind of tools, all of these people that use gimmicks want to say that characters are equal, but if that's true why don't you show that? Pick up Steve, pick up Mishimas, pick up Lee and prove that it's the same. Prove you can climb the ladder just as quickly.

Prove that it's just as easy to win at high ranks what Steve is it is with these gimmicky characters. Yet nobody does that. Take your Steve against a very wise and defensive turtle and show me how easy it is..

It's a cop-out because people like this want the same respect, but they don't do any of the same effort. In my opinion if a character is easier own it. Admit you play the character because it's easier, stop trying to sell this lie that every character is just as difficult as the other because that's a lie.

Most characters with gimmicks are extremely strong at mid-tier and lower tier ranks. Let's be real here not everyone can lab every character and every string. Much less beginners to intermediate who are still basically learning. So there will always be a certain level of unfamiliarity.

That unfamiliarity is much stronger at lower and mid-ish ranks.

@Asil Aygün what a butthurt toxic piece of degenerate, stfu

Tarz

@Asil Aygün It's a common conclusion that Nina players have it easy even before TMM said anything. If you see anyone insulting Nina mains then it's probably because they don't need to prove the point that Nina is easy. You, on the other hand, need to prove your point before you get the privilege to insult anyone, but you don't seem to even have a point to prove, just mindless heretics.

domaug

@Asil Aygün dude all of your comments are talking about licking TMM's ass. now, maybe he has a restraining order against you and you're salty about it, but you're projecting just a little too much right now.
