HEADSTRONG
Harmonics Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Circling your, circling your, circling your head
Contemplating everything you ever said
Now I see the truth I got a doubt
A different motive in your eyes
And now I'm out, see you later

I see your fantasy
You want to make it a reality paved in gold
See inside, inside of our heads, yeah
Well, now that's over

I see your motives inside
Decisions to hide

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
Headstrong, we're headstrong

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
And this is not where you belong

I can't give everything away
I won't give everything away

Conclusions manifest, your first impression's
Got to be your very best
I see you're full of shit and that's alright
That's how you play, I guess you get through
Every night, well, now that's over

I see your fantasy
You want to make it a reality paved in gold
See inside, inside of our heads, yeah
Well, now that's over

I see your motives inside
Decisions to hide

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
Headstrong, we're headstrong

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
And this is not where you belong

Where you belong?
(I can't give everything away)
This is not where you belong
(I won't give everything away)

I know, I know all about, I know, I know all about
I know, I know all about, I know, I know all about
Your motives inside and your decision to hide

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
Headstrong, we're headstrong

Back off, I'll take you on
Headstrong to take on anyone
I know that you are wrong
And this is not where you belong

Where you belong?
This is not where you belong
(I can't give everything away)
This is not where you belong

(I won't give everything away)
This is not where you belong

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Harmonics's song Headstrong speak about someone who has finally seen the truth about a person who they once trusted. The opening lines "Circling your, circling your, circling your head, contemplating everything you ever said" suggest that the person is still processing everything that has been said and done in the past, trying to make sense of it all. However, they have finally seen the "different motive" in the other person's eyes and have decided to walk away for good. The lines "I see your fantasy, you want to make it a reality paved in gold, see inside, inside of our heads, yeah, well, now that's over" indicate that the other person had a different idea of what their relationship was going to be, but the singer has woken up to the reality and is moving on.

The refrain of "Back off, I'll take you on; Headstrong to take on anyone; I know that you are wrong; And this is not where you belong" shows the singer's sense of empowerment and determination to stand up for themselves. They are not going to allow themselves to be taken in by false promises and are ready to take on anyone who comes their way. The closing lines "This is not where you belong; (I can't give everything away); This is not where you belong; (I won't give everything away)" suggest that while the singer knows that they made a mistake by trusting the other person, they are not going to give away everything that is important to them.

Where do you think the guy learned it from? He watched my original video…. I’m fully aware of what you’re talking about…. I guess we all plagiarize one another every once in a while I suppose I’m a little bit butt hurt because I didn’t think of making a 302nd video of it till I seen his so even though I invented this trick or at least feel like I did because I was first one to ever put it on YouTube .. we were both learning from each other, but some 20-year-old kid definitely going to outdo some 47-year-old man…
