Here's the story : George asked Jeremy to produce an EP for The Other Also but the two started writing together with software synths and programmed beats. Their old friend, Richard Parsons, came to visit and said, "Yeah, this isn't The Other Also. This is something new." So, it was!
Britt originally joined as the guitarist, but she has always been a keyboard player at heart. So, when Jason expressed an interest in joining the band after their record release show at the Doug Fir, Britt was thrilled by the prospect of putting down the guitar and returning to her primary instrument. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Hawks Do Not Share Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
How long will this go on?
If your brother lie dead in the street
Assemble peacefully
Or turn on the heat?
We all need a dream to hold on to
The lyrics of Hawks Do Not Share's song "Daybreak" touch upon themes of social unrest, questioning the effectiveness of peaceful protests, and the importance of holding onto dreams even in difficult times. The lines "Daybreak after the storm, how long will this go on?" allude to a period of upheaval and chaos, symbolizing a society facing turmoil and division.
The next line, "If your brother lie dead in the street, assemble peacefully or turn on the heat?", poses a profound ethical question. It asks whether one should react peacefully and seek justice through peaceful means, or resort to violence and aggression when faced with the injustice of a fellow human being lying dead. This line explores the tensions and complexities of protest movements, challenging listeners to reflect on how they would respond in such a situation.
The lyric "We all need a dream to hold on to" encapsulates the underlying theme of the song. It recognizes the power of dreams and aspirations in giving individuals hope and motivation to overcome adversity. It suggests that while the world may be fraught with challenges and injustices, it is crucial to cling onto dreams as a source of resilience and inspiration.
Overall, "Daybreak" by Hawks Do Not Share encourages thoughtful reflection on societal issues, the complexities of peaceful protests, and the significance of dreams in difficult times.
