Didn’t get very far
Where’d she get such a scar
But I’d do it again & again & again
Thought we’d get to the moon
Not be back quite as soon
She living in a cocoon
But I’m digging away, dig away, dig away
A long way down, to your heart
A long way down girl, to your heart
Crashed & burned a wreck in the making
Her seat belts on but oh man she’s shaking
Shuts her eyes when she’s overtaking
But I’m up on the bend, on the bend, in the end
See what you’re doing to me baby
See what you’re doing to me
So am I out of here please
Oh yes! Oh no! Oh yes!
It’s all gone hazy, with my mad bad baby
Like Rutger Haver in his finest hour
I can take it if you’ll drive with me
So come on, come on, come on.
The lyrics in Heavy Stereo's song Deep Fried Heart depict the journey of two people in a car. The singer talks about taking a trip in a car that didn't go very far and notices a scar on the girl's body. The lyrics also mention digging away and a long way down to the girl's heart, which could signify the difficulties in getting to know her intimately. The girl seems hesitant and scared, as she shuts her eyes when overtaking, but the singer is eager to continue journeying with her. The lyrics end on an uncertain note, with the singer asking if he's out of there, but then changing his mind and urging the girl to come on.
Overall, the song seems to be a representation of the challenges and excitement that come with embarking on a new relationship. The uncertainty, hesitance, and anticipation are all potential emotions that the singer is feeling during this journey, which makes the journey both exciting and nerve-wracking.

I met Gem after watching Heavy Stereo play at the stage in Hanley SOT when I was 16, I rolled him a joint and he gave me a few cans and he was good enough to let me sit with the guys and chill out after the show, we talked about the bands he grew up listening to and life on the road, at that point we both had no idea he'd go on to play with Oasis he made a young kids night...so props to you Gem cheers.
