Arayuru himitsu to kisu
Ureshikute naite shimatta
Ano yoru o wasurenai
Subete wa owatta keredo
Ai ga mada ikite ita koro
Ima wa futari mishiranu hito mitai
Soshite watashi Alone
Anata ga nozomu michi o
Issho ni ikitakatta
Soba ni itakatta no ni
Anata wa satte itta
Subete wa yume o mite ita no?
Ai ga mada ikite ita koro
Sekai wa futari no te ni atta
Itsuka futatabi deaeru kashira
Sono hi made Alone
Ai ga mada ikite ita koro
Sekai wa kagayaite mieta
Ima wa futari mishiranu hito mitai
Soshite watashi Alone
Koko ni hitori Alone
The lyrics to Hitomi's song "Alone" speak to the feeling of being alone despite wanting to be with someone else. The opening lines, "Anata ga sasayaite kureta / Arayuru himitsu to kisu," translate to "You whispered all sorts of secrets and gave me kisses." These lines suggest an intimate relationship but are followed by, "Subete wa owatta keredo / Ai ga mada ikite ita koro / Sekai wa kagayaite mieta / Ima wa futari mishiranu hito mitai / Soshite watashi Alone," which mean that despite everything being over, love is still alive and the world shone when they were together, but now the singer is alone. The chorus repeats the sentiment, "Ai ga mada ikite ita koro / Sekai wa kagayaite mieta / Ima wa futari mishiranu hito mitai / Soshite watashi Alone" which translates to, "When love was still alive, the world shone, we were together, but now I'm alone."
The second verse, "Anata ga nozomu michi o / Issho ni ikitakatta / Soba ni itakatta no ni / Anata wa satte itta / Subete wa yume o mite ita no?" tells of wanting to go on a journey together but being left alone. The question at the end suggests that maybe it was all just a dream, but it still hurts to be alone. The chorus is repeated again, hammering in the feeling of loneliness despite the memories of love.
Hitomi's "Alone" paints a picture of someone who is left alone by someone they loved, but the feelings of their love still linger despite the world moving on without them. This sense of loneliness is palpable through the lyrics and melody, creating an emotional resonance that speaks to the heart.
