Talk Of The Town
Hugh Volk Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Life is so strange when it's changin', yes indeed
Well I've seen the hard times and the pressure's been on me
But I keep on workin' like a workin' man do
And I've got my act together, gonna walk all over you

Gimme back my bullets, put 'em back where they belong
Ain't foolin' around 'cause I've done had my fun
Ain't gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back my bullets

Sweet talkin' people done ran me out of town
I drank enough whiskey to float a battleship around
I'm leavin' this game one step ahead of you
And you will not hear me cry 'cause I do not sing the blues

Gimme back my bullets, put 'em back where they belong
Ain't foolin' around 'cause I've done had the fun
Ain't gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back, gimme back my bullets
Oh, put 'em back baby, where they belong, gimme back my bullets

Been up and down since I turned seventeen
Well, I've been on top, and then it seems I lost my dream
I got it back, I'm feelin' better everyday
Tell all those pencil pushers, better get out of my way

Gimme back my bullets, put 'em back where they belong
And I said, ain't foolin' around, 'cause I've done had my fun
Ain't gonna see no more damage done

Gimme back, gimme back my bullets
Oh put 'em back baby, gimme back my bullets

Overall Meaning

The song "Talk of the Town" by Hugh Volk is about the challenges and changes that come with life, and how the singer has persevered through them. The first verse speaks to the pressure and hard times that the singer has faced, but they have maintained their work ethic and determination to overcome. The chorus, "Gimme back my bullets, put 'em back where they belong" is a metaphor for regaining control and power. The singer is taking back what is rightfully theirs and not letting others control or manipulate them anymore. The second verse speaks to the singer being pushed out of town by "sweet talkin' people" and turning to alcohol as a coping mechanism. However, they are leaving behind the toxicity and negativity, and not allowing it to bring them down or make them feel defeated.

Overall, the song is about finding strength and resilience within oneself, and not letting others dictate one's path or happiness. The metaphor of bullets represents the power and control one has over their life, and the importance of taking that power back from those who try to take it away.

“We lost the technology to go back to outer space”

😂😂 so funny, but not that they managed to fool everyone with this fake lunar mission

@kylesstuff6602

Sort of. It's more complicated than that. It took 400k people, mountains of tech docs and many years to get the originals into orbit or to the moon. 60 years later we wouldn't use the same tech as then and the costs would be enormous compared to the benefit. We've been to the moon many times. Enough as needed for any benefit
