Ola Kala
I'm from Barcelona Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
She's gonna swim away from all her misery
Yesterday she said to me
"The underwater train is heading for Paris"
I will take you far away
I'll put you in a little bowl upon a tray
I know this is what you dream
And I'll take you far away
I'll put you in a bowl upon a tray
And this is what you dream
We're going up the Eiffel Tower, you and me
I'll take you far away
I'll put you in a bowl upon a tray
This is what you dream
We're going up the Eiffel Tower, you and me
Eiffel Tower, you and me
Eiffel Tower, you and me
Eiffel Tower, you and me
The song "Ola Kala" by I'm from Barcelona speaks about escaping pain and misery by traveling to a faraway place. The lyrics talk about a character named Jenny, possibly a metaphor for the singer's own sadness and he is singing about how he will take her far away so that she can experience her dreams. The underwater train mentioned in the lyrics could be interpreted as a means of escaping the reality of daily life, while Paris and the Eiffel Tower are seen as symbols of happiness and beauty.
The repeated lyrics "I'll put you in a little bowl upon a tray" could be interpreted as the singer's desire to keep Jenny safe and protected from the outside world. He wants to take her away and take care of her in this new place, free from the troubles of the past. The Eiffel Tower seems to be the ultimate destination; a symbol of love and hope.
Overall, "Ola Kala" is a song about escapism, love and hope. It speaks to a desire to escape a difficult reality and find peace in a new place. The repeated chorus of "Eiffel Tower, you and me" emphasizes the importance of love and companionship in the journey towards happiness.
