I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness is often associated with the band Spoon, and Spoon's lead singer, Britt Daniel, even produced their first album. The resulting EP, I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness, was a 5-song EP released under Emperor Jones Records in 2003. This was followed with a 2-song 12” EP in 2005.
The band consists of Ernest Salaz, Christian Goyer, Edward Robert, Tim White, with the addition of guitarist Daniel Del Favero after the release of their debut EP.
In March 2006 the band released their full-length debut Fear Is On Our Side on Secretly Canadian, based out of Bloomington, IN.

I have tears in my eyes after listening to them! Eight years and nothing... I still listen to according to plan and the owl, so this brings me joy that they are releasing a new album!

This is such a great song, it seems to be a bond between the previous album and the current career! They've always been underrated because they proved to be different and to take inspiration from something real and noticeable as if they could bring back all the strength and the charm of dark music! That's why they have chosen darkness (just fetched from the band's name). We've waited so long for this band to come back and it caps off our hopes and the restless fans who were outside trying to get any information about the band prosecution or a foreseeable/hidden break-up! Our time was well spent indeed, this record can compare up with the feel and the obscurity over the debut album! Love it all!

Funny tale.. 5 to 6 years ago I was at a diner in Bethesda, MD and I was having some small talk with the waitress. We were talking about music and Austin, I said, 'I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness' was my favorite band from Austin.. She says, "No Way, I'm good friends with the band"; Small World. True Story.
