Ice-T started in 1982 out with other West Coast rap pioneers such as Kid Frost, DJ Flash, and The Egyptian Lover with Electro recordings. Later on, he changed his style and was the first West Coast rapper to be accepted by the East Coast. 6 'n The Mornin is sometimes seen as the track that triggered the whole gangster rap movement. It was produced by The Unknown DJ, who produced electro funk tracks before and went on to produce Compton's Most Wanted. The song was inspired by Schoolly D's "P.S.K. What Does It Mean?" and became itself the inspiration for Eazy-E and N.W.A's Boyz-N-The-Hood. Ice-T went on to work with Afrika Islam, the man behind the beats on 1987's Rhyme Pays, 1988's Power and 1989's The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech... Just Watch What You Say.
He also is a star in Law in Order: Special Victims Unit.
In 1992 he created the crossover band Body Count with 4 other black musicians.

The song "It's On" by Ice-T speaks about the singer's experience of realizing that he has fallen in love with someone unexpectedly. He describes being lost in Vienna and stumbling upon a woman who captivates him with her genuineness and kindness. As they get to know each other, the singer realizes that he has fallen for this person, but he also understands that love can be blind, making it difficult for him to see clearly and know whether the feeling is mutual. Despite this uncertainty, the singer remains optimistic that everything is going to be okay, whether or not he ends up with this person in the end.
The song's lyrics create a vivid atmosphere that captures the singer's experience of being lost and disoriented in a foreign city, as well as his sense of hope and possibility as he connects with this new person. The use of specific details, such as drinking ice coffee and passing by Museums Quartier in Vienna, adds to the sensory experience of the song and helps the listener get a sense of the singer's surroundings. The chorus, with its repetition of the phrase "with or without me anyway," reinforces the idea that while the singer wants this person's love, he is ultimately okay with whatever happens.

I was drinking ice coffee
I was enjoying a refreshing beverage on a warm day
I was looking for shade on a warm spring day
I was seeking relief from the sun's heat in the middle of spring
I was lost in Vienna
I didn't know my whereabouts in the city of Vienna
Passing by Museums Quartier
As I was walking in the city, I happened to cross the Museums Quartier
I saw her and had to
As I saw her, I felt compelled to approach her
Say the first honest thing that came to my dull mind
Without overthinking, I spoke genuinely and from the heart with the first thought that came to me
I could never imagine
I never expected
I was meeting someone so genuine and kind
That I would meet such a person who was truly authentic and caring
Then we shared
We exchanged
Our story
Our personal tales and experiences
Everything about you I fell in love with
I adored every aspect of who you are
Then I thought about you all the time
You captured my thoughts and consumed much of my mental energy
Turned off my phone to keep you off my mind
To avoid distractions, I turned off my phone to clear my head and focus on you
They say love is often oh so blind
It is said that love can cloud one's judgment and perception
Is that why I cant see you and I
Could that be why I struggle to see our true relationship for what it is?
Its okay
Everything is alright
Cause I'm okay
I'm doing fine
Cause you're okay
You're doing alright
With or without me anyway
Regardless of my presence or absence
I want your love
I desire your affection
At the end of the day
Ultimately
Its gonna be okay
Things will be alright
December came everything was grey
As the end of the year approached, everything seemed dull and unexciting
I awoke from a dream about you
As I woke up from sleeping, you were the focus of my dream
Then we spoke like we did before the break
We conversed as we had previously done before any separation
With or without me anyway
Despite my presence or absence
I want your love
I crave your affection
Its okay
Everything is alright
Cause I'm okay
I'm doing fine
Cause you're okay
You're doing alright
With or without me anyway
Despite my presence or absence
With or without me anyway
Regardless of whether I am with you or not
With or without me anyway
Despite my involvement or lack thereof

Home Invasion is another classic album, I don't know why its rating is so low. It's raw, heavy weighted and got that old school sound to it. Ice's final classic album. Five classic albums in a row. Who tf does that

I so strongly agree. I loved it since the first listen when it was released, but so many sneer at it. It is a legitimately solid album.
