«I just want to make the music I love, without asking myself if it's gonna be too complex or too far from what people like. I want to make the music which has sense to me, with no restrictions, like a big party with metalheads, electronics nerds, classical and baroque-heads and gypsy violinists getting drunk and joining together to bring the best of every genre.»
— Gautier Serre
Initially influenced by the likes of Meshuggah, Chopin, Cannibal Corpse, Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, Taraf de Haidouks and Aphex Twin, traces of these artists can be found littered across Igorrr’s discography, but Serre has never been interested in remaining static or merely recycling ideas, and his work has dramatically evolved accordingly. It deeply explains how Igorrr’s music is such an explosion of creativity while keeping a cohesive universe records after records.
In recent years, Igorrr has also become a collective, rather than the work of one man alone, which has brought a new level of intensity into the group live representations.
He released Nostril (2010) and Hallelujah (2012) on Ad Noiseam. And Savage Sinusoid (2017) on Metal Blade Records.

The lyrics of Igorrr's song "Lullaby for a fat Jellyfish" are in French and translate to "He was giving a sort of chronology of the rhythm. And this obviousness of rhythm, if respected, the piece suddenly lit up. And became wonderful. Black metal, baroque, scream..." The song title and lyrics create a dissonant and surrealistic image of a lullaby for a creature that is not typically associated with being sung to. The lyrics reflect the unique approach to music that Igorrr takes, combining different genres and elements to create an out-of-the-box sound.
The first line of the lyrics suggests that the song is about the importance of rhythm, and how respecting it can bring clarity and beauty to the music. This is reflected in the diverse range of genres mentioned in the lyrics - black metal, baroque, and scream - which are not typically combined. This juxtaposition creates a unique experience for the listener and emphasizes the importance of experimentation and boundary-pushing in music.
The use of the term "Lullaby" in the song title and lyrics is also intriguing. It creates a sense of comfort and familiarity, yet the subject of the lullaby - a fat jellyfish - is unexpected and strange. This contrast creates a surreal and dreamlike environment within the song.
