Regrets
Intensity Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But I've learned from the wrongs that I've done
And I'll do my best not to reapeat them 'cause mistakes only bring me regrets
I regret
Regret, but I can't forget, 'cause I have the scars to remind me of the self-destructive past I left behind
Rebuild, self-confidence and knowledge
Found out my own truth
Now I'll decide, when there's a choice to make in my life
I've made my mistakes now haven't we all
But I've learned from the wrongs that I've done
And I'll do my best not to reapeat them 'cause mistakes only bring me regrets
No more mistakes, to bring me regrets
The song "Regrets" by Intensity talks about the mistakes that one has made in their life and the regrets that come along with it. The first lines of the song acknowledge that everyone has made mistakes, but the chorus emphasizes that mistakes only bring regrets. The scars of the self-destructive past are a reminder of the mistakes made, and the song suggests that the only way to move forward is to rebuild self-confidence and acquire knowledge.
In the second verse, the song conveys a sense of personal growth and the ability to make better choices in life. The lyrics suggest that the singer has found their own truth and learned from their mistakes. The following line quotes Ani Difranco, implying that unlearning lies is as important as learning new things. The chorus repeats again, this time stating that there can be no more mistakes to bring regrets.
Overall, "Regrets" is a reflective and introspective song that acknowledges mistakes made in the past, but emphasizes the importance of learning from them and moving forward with self-confidence and knowledge.
