The in-game start date for the episode was the 4th of Syndestar 836. Sam’s flask says “Empty” on the front and “Love” on the back.

When I started writing these timestamps, I was unemployed and depressed, I felt useless and powerless. The best parts of my week were posting these timestamps and seeing all of your responses. Seeing people tell me I was doing good work, that I helped them enjoy the show, even just praising the speed made me feel like I was worth something in a time where I needed it the most. After three and a half years, four jobs, 194 stamp documents and a lot of work on myself, this weekend I moved into my first solo apartment. I don’t know where I’d be now if I hadn’t gotten the appreciation when I needed it, so thank you all. See you in C3, in these one shots, and who knows where else.

Any moments I missed? Feel free to post them here. Is it Thursday yet?

@TheFansOfFiction

Well, considering Veth and Davaxian, and also that scene with Veth an Caleb,

"I'll take your halfling luck."
"Go ahead, I don't need it."

It's probably not coincidence.

Then again, Marisha also said a few episodes ago that she would play a "high charisma character" next campaign and we ended up with Laudna so...

FYI, no hate: Laudna is one of my favorites, she just definitely isn't high charisma.

@SeerOfTime577

“I do not think it is a luxury anyone has, to call themselves good or bad. I think that is a label for others to present.” - Essek
“The Matron has special destinations for people who burn temples. So, why don’t you put your back into this?” - Caduceus
“The only way to keep these cycles of abuse from continuing to happen is to tell the story.” - Beau
“I convinced myself I’d be alone for so much of my life. It’s hard to say goodbye when I don’t feel alone anymore.” - Essek
“But [the world] is so much more beautiful in all its shades of colors.” - Beau
“As someone who’s been on a penance journey, don’t take too long. Because connection is what saves us.” - Yasha
“You, more than anyone, showed me that trauma doesn’t define you.” - Essek
“If I may, I’d like to make a wish. I’d like you to finally step out of the cell that you’re in. You’ve been trapped by your past for so long. And, you know, we all tried to help you out of it. But there’s some locks that even I can’t pick. But you can, if you take the step and walk away from everything that you regret, and all your sins, and realize how good of a person you are, and how much you matter to everyone around you, you can have an amazing life. The past made you who you are, but it doesn’t control you. Because of it, you brought us together. And because of it, we had this amazing journey together. So, yes. You’ve convinced me I’m brave, but you are mighty. And you should go forth and be happy.” - Veth
“Your past doesn’t scare me. It only makes you beautiful.” - Beau

@nobodyknows5637

Kingsley is Mollymauk, same soul fragment, thanks to Melora, same personality. This is just a reset. This is who Molly would be without the trauma of Lucian overshadowing him.

That's what Kingsley meant when he said the Molly identity didn't feel right. Without the memories it freed him from the fear that informed a lot of who Mollymauk was.

I don't think people understand just how trapped Molly felt. He hid it well, living life to the fullest. With a genuine appreciation for the people he trusted, like Yasha. But the B/S was telling. Unable to escape a past he didn't understand. That had left him catatonic alone in the ground with unusual blood powers and covered in odd markings. He tried to differentiate himself as much as possible from this stranger, a self he didn't recognise. But would have glimpses of though intrusive memories. It was a person he had grown to deeply dislike.

Everything Molly did was defensive on some level of his newly hard won identity. That he felt could be snatched from him at any time.

He lied even to Yasha, his oldest friend.

He liked the circus. But it was also a good way to hide.

The tattoos, an expression of his identity and a way to claim ownership over the body, was also a method to cover the eyes. And the clothes were a way for him to gauge how people were going to react to him. Even his need to do a little good, to be able to empathise with others which may have been part of his personality or learnt behaviour from the circus. Could be seen as a reaction to Lucian’s narcissistic nature. Whether he was conscious of it we don't know.

I like to think this change of identity was something Molly chose. The option was given to him by Beau and Caleb after his resurrection. And again when they explained his past to him trying to jog his memories. But he chose to leave the past in the past. Very him, no longer M/T (empty). But instead basing his new name on the regal feeling he felt though Lucian’s ascension. While honouring who he was before and the friendship he made by keeping Tealeaf.

@areoants9453

I can't express deeply enough how much this series means to me. I started sometime around... what, mid-2019? I work as a truck driver, something that is long, arduous, and stressful as hell. And these sessions of D&D have helped make those trips just a little bit easier on the soul. Matt's descriptions are enough to bring me into a rich, beautiful world filled to the brim with many people, all while I bring some cargo from A to B.

Getting to be there when dragons ravaged Tal'dorai. Slaying a demigod. Watching a war begin and end. Putting to rest an eldritch city. So much has happened over these 250+ episodes. And it's all helped me escape from the mundanities of reality.

Today, February 20th, 2022, I finally finish both Campaigns 1 and 2. I'm not sure what to expect from Campaign 3, technically I still haven't caught up yet. But if it's anything like these jokers brought along, I think I'll be in for a good time.

Thank you, Matthew Mercer. Long may he reign.

(Also, if I can shove a P.S. in a small gushing of the series, the way Liam played Caleb? So damn good, I've used it as a blueprint for how I play my own character in another campaign I'm in. Damn, CR's nothing short of a positive influence.)

@ellamichael4513

To the Mighty Nein:

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

This year has been a weight to me.
I have felt a heaviness for a long time,
and it is with great respect that I say these stories, these characters, these people, have saved my life. Many times over.

It has been an honor to partake in this journey, and I look forward to watching many more characters unfold into beautiful, broken people who save the world in more ways than one.

To Travis: Thank you for creating a character who was a true Captain in stormy weather, and a shine of much joy in my life. Fjord has shown me that surviving the depths and coughing up sea water in front of your friends is nothing to hide, but in fact a great strength, and that it is with friendship one can withstand the pain of nightmares. He has shown me that deep waters are meant to be traversed with friends, a reminder I need, and a reminder I carry.

To Laura: Thank you for creating a character that was easy to love and a true wild card. Jester has shown me the joys of mischief, and that there is a right time to stand and fight, and a right time to heal. She is a whirlwind of creativity and imagination, a source of kindness and laughter, and more often than not, one of the only reasons I found myself truly laughing on rough days. She is a firework that filled my nights with color, and I will be forever grateful for the show.

To Liam: Thank you for Caleb. For showing that, as Essek (Matt) said: "One's trauma does not define them." Caleb's story is one I connect with, deeply. And guilt, though misplaced, can weigh heavy. It has been a true honor to see Caleb grow past this weight, to be strong enough to tell his story, to speak the past into existence and let it lie. It is an inspiration I cling tightly to. It is something learned that I will never let go.

To Sam: Veth, in all her ways is a character who will never fail to make me smile. She is a spark, and a light, and her aim is true. She has shown me, more than anything, the reason one fights so hard. And she loves with a fierceness I know well. Thank you for Veth's loyalty and bravery. It is in her courage and dedication to those she loves, that I have found an anchor.

To Ashley: Thank you for Yasha. For the story of surviving. For the story of a woman who breaks her chains and flies. I have often dreamed of having my own wings, of flying anywhere, and Yasha has shown me that while wings are beautiful, and wonderful, and filled with freedom, they are for protecting friends, and for rescuing loved ones, and that flying away from your problems does not solve them. Yasha has shown me that it is alongside those you love that you can forgive yourself. I am learning.

To Taliesin: Thank you for two characters who showed me grief. Who showed me life. Who allowed a space to mourn and celebrate that nothing is certain and that life will grow in spite of that. Molly and Caduceus have both spoken beautiful lines that I have taped on my walls, a necessary reminder of growth, of moving towards something better, something greener. Thank you. For the wisdom. Thank you.

To Marisha: Thank you for showing true justice in Beau. For the goodness that is found in working to make yourself better. For showing that there is great strength in the dedication to better the world, and that while it is not easy to uphold true virtue, it is worth it. Beau is a pillar, a foundation, to those around her, whether she realizes it, or not. And she works to make sure that foundation is steady, solid, while also leaning on others for support. That lesson is needed, and a blessing.

To Matt: Thank you for this story. For pulling imagination into reality like one pulls a tissue out of a tissue box when it should feel like a rabbit out of a magician's hat--it is natural and real and visceral fantasy, imagination come to life, breathing into this life. And it is beautiful world building in a way that I both admire and envy. It has been a great honor to watch the growth of this story, the threads sewn and woven. Thank you for the characters and the lines and the emotion. For setting the stage.
I aspire to have an ounce of your genius within my own written work.

To the crew, those behind the cameras, whose faces we do not see: Thank you for making this possible. For allowing the world to see this magnificent story in good camera work and good sound and everything else that goes into making this possible. Thank you for the good captions, and the dedication to your craft. Thank you for allowing me this glimpse into another world, it has been an honor to peer through the gates you hold guard over.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

@MarcEmvy

That fight with Trent. Are you kidding me?
Fjord with high level spells and melees,
Cad providing constant support and heals,
Jester healing and dominating,
Yasha tanking and holding the front,
Veth and Beau planning the collar,
Caleb giving his intelligence and tactics on the mage battle,
Essek providing support fire.
Damn everyone stepped up. Bitch we just killed an Ancient Astral City.
