The sophomore album Intersections followed after another two long years of touring, marking a refocus of Into It. Over It.'s sound from pop punk-oriented songs to a more instrumentally broad, indie-centric approach. With a new live lineup to match the sonic shift, Into It. Over It. went out on the road again and appeared not only on long headlining tours, but also large festivals such as Lollapalooza and Riot Fest. Between the never-ending string of full band and solo shows that Evan is perpetually caught on, work on the third Into It. Over It. album has begun with a January 2015 writing session, entailing Evan and Into It. Over It.'s current drummer Josh Sparks being holled up in a cabin for thirty days. Since the fifth grade, Evan spent many years writing, recording and touring in bands. His first band was The Progress, formed with his grade school friends. Evan was a bass player in many of his early bands as a result of losing a coin toss with the other members of The Progress to decide who would play guitar in the band. Prior to the initiation of Into It. Over It., Evan was also in Damiera, Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start, Labour, Map the Growth,, The Funeral Bird, Hiroshima Mon'Amour, Sleeper Agents, The French Connection, Emergency and Forgive Her Choke Her. More recently, Evan has spent his time off from Into It. Over It. in Stay Ahead of the Weather with the other members of Into It. Over It.'s first touring lineup, Pet Symmetry with members of Dowsing, and Their / They're / There with Matthew Frank of Loose Lips Sink Ships and Mike Kinsella of Owen.

I know it's too cold out
I get it, i know i'm always up too late
But my routines have seemed the same for years
I know i'm difficult to figure out
But don't sweat it if you're planning on skipping town
I'm comparing lives to make you stay put
Assimilate and recreate
You're setting up a shock to sit still
To where you're moving right along
To when i can admit where i was wrong
With what you haven't found
You can draw your losses out
To where the city just got a little colder now
It's colder now
To what you've worn out
So i don't have much to offer
Besides an old bike seat and some bad advice
To keeping true with where we'd aged
And translate sarcastic for being nice
Stay put
Assimilate or recreate
And ride home
To where you're moving right along
To when i can admit where i was wrong
To where it's what you had in mind
To better suit your time
Better suit your time
With what you haven't found
You can draw your losses out
To where the city just got a little warmer now
The song "An Evening With Ramsey Beyer" by Into It. Over It. expresses a longing for consistency and familiarity, and the fear of being left behind while everyone else moves on. The singer asks the listener to stay put and unlock the gate, to not give in to the cold or the temptation to leave. They acknowledge their own difficult-to-read nature, but try to assure the listener that it's worth sticking around. The singer compares their lives to try and persuade them to stay, and suggests that together they can create and recreate stories that illustrate their experiences.
The lyrics also touch on the theme of loss and regret, as the singer admits that they haven't always gotten things right, but hopes to rectify that in the future. They offer an old bike seat and some bad advice as their only contribution, but stress the importance of staying true to where they've aged and learning how to communicate their feelings more effectively. The end of the song brings a sense of hope, as the singer suggests that the city has gotten a little warmer, and that with time, the listener can draw their losses out and move forward.
Overall, "An Evening With Ramsey Beyer" is a heartfelt plea for connection and understanding, and an acknowledgement of the struggles inherent in trying to maintain relationships while navigating life's ups and downs.
