She started her career in the late 90's, with alternative rock group Tiara, who had moderate success in Malta, with singles such as "Riverman", "Basketball", and their EP "Hi-Infidelity" in 2000, she released her first pop album in 2001 entitled "Butterfly", entered the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002, placing 2nd, with "7th Wonder", and also released "Someone Else" in 2004, which recreated Ira as a pop/rock star.
The Way It's Meant to Be
Ira Losco Lyrics

Where i don't want
To belong to
He said follow me down
And i did
He sees things that i don′t
But i want to
Yes i want to
Is it is it the way it's meant to be?
We're standing behind it all just you and me
I know i know
I′m wild and free
Waiting for the rain to come down on me
Is it is it the way it′s meant to be?
She said never let go
Of what you want to
Hold on to
She said these are the days
That i fear
But we don't understand
That what doesn′t kill us
Make us stronger
Love is always worth
All of your tears
Is it is it the way it's meant to be?
We are standing behind it all just you and me
I know i know
I′am wild and free waiting for the rain to come down on me
Is it is it the way it's meant to be?
Hhhhhhhhhh
Hhhhhhhhhh
Hhhhhhhhhh
Is it is it the way it′s meant to be?
Standing behind it all just you and me
I know i know
I'm wild and free waiting for the rain to come down on me
Is it is it the way it's meant to be?
Is it is it the way it′s meant to be?
Is it is it the way it′s meant to be?
I know i know i'm wild and free waiting for the rain to come down on me
Is it is it the way it′s meant to be
The song "The Way It's Meant to Be" by Ira Losco talks about finding one's place in life and accepting the journey that comes with it. The first verse describes a person who is being told by someone else that they can only belong where they desire to. The person follows the other, who has a different perspective and sees things that they don't, but the idea of everything falling into place is what they both want to see. The chorus repeats the question "Is it the way it's meant to be?" and describes the two people standing behind everything that they have and waiting for the rain to come down on them. The second verse features a woman telling the person not to let go of what they want to hold on to, and that the days that she fears will make them stronger. Through love and tears, they find that they are both wild and free and waiting for the rain to come. The outro repeats the chorus and the question of whether this is the way that their lives are meant to be.
Overall, the song reflects on the journey of life and the waiting that comes with the search for meaning and acceptance of the way things unfold. It shows that sometimes we have to follow others, sometimes we have to hold on to things, but ultimately we all go through struggles and hardships that shape us into who we are. The chorus repeats the question of whether or not this journey is the way things are meant to be and asks us to find our place and find acceptance in the midst of the journey.

He said i’ll never belong
He told me that I will never fit in
Where i don't want
In a place where I don't want to be
To belong to
To be a part of
He said follow me down
He asked me to follow him
And i did
And I followed him
He sees things that i don’t
He has a different perspective that I don't have
But i want to
But I desire to see as he sees
Yes i want to
Indeed, I want to
See that everything falls into place
To witness everything coming together in its right place
Is it is it the way it's meant to be?
Questioning whether this is fate's purpose
We're standing behind it all just you and me
Together, we're pushing through despite everything
I know i know
I am aware
I’M wild and free
I am untamable and liberated
Waiting for the rain to come down on me
Anticipating something that will bring life's beauty
She said never let go
She taught me to hold on
Of what you want to
To what I desire for
Hold on to
Hold tight
She said these are the days
She warned me about these challenging moments
That i fear
That I'm scared of
But we don't understand
Yet, we cannot comprehend
That what doesn’t kill us
That which doesn't tear us apart
Make us stronger
Fortifies us
Love is always worth
Love is always valuable enough
All of your tears
All the sorrows and tears it may bring
Hhhhhhhhhh
Hhhhhhhhhh
Hhhhhhhhhh
Is it is it the way it's meant to be?
Wondering whether this is predestined
Standing behind it all just you and me
Together, we stand firm
I know i know
I am aware
I'm wild and free waiting for the rain to come down on me
Liberatedly awaiting something that will clear the mind
Is it is it the way it's meant to be?
Reflecting whether everything is according to fate
Is it is it the way it's meant to be?
Again questioning whether this is predestined
I know i know i'm wild and free waiting for the rain to come down on me
Reiteration of readiness for something refreshing
