I've always had a deep abiding respect and admiration for the Native Americans. I think that they had a spiritual balance and lived in total harmony with nature.

Here are some reasons i think America is on the decline in the 21st Century:

1) We're rapidly becoming a Nation without Faith. People no longer believe in a God (Prime Creator) and they don't have a reverence for Creation. Humanism is replacing the belief in a Supreme Creator.
2) Materialism and Greed have replaced Spirituality.
3) We forgot how to live in harmony with Mother Earth and we use much more of our resources than we really need, left unchecked we will kill, polute and leave a barren planet.
4) Morals and Values have become virtually non existent! Immorality is promoted as the New Morality?
5) Discipline is GONE!
6) Respect is GONE!
7) Accountability is GONE!
8) Serious Criminals like terrorists, drug dealers, kidnappers, murderers, rapists and robbers are mollycoddled and protected?
9) The super-rich and powerful basically control everything in the world, from the economy, to the laws. Profits before people that's the way of the business world.

The Native American history has been ignored and hidden from society. Thank you for your love and knowledge.
I've heard some people's frustration in feeling so very connected to a certain group but not be of their race. It can be very frustrating. I know from working with shamanic techniques that I lived as many different races. Western & European religions don't teach that we live again just that we die. Eastern religions and philosophy teach reincarnation and in those countries it's normal and accepted, it was also accepted by Native Americans.
In many Native American (North & South) legends and stories spoke of reincarnation, "We will live again!" was a repeated verse. So many people have a deep knowing that they lived on this Earth as a Native American and may have lived more than once but now might be another race in the current life. So someone in Sweden could have lived 3 or 4 lives as a Native American and it might be the first life for a person born Native American in this life. We're all on the same wheel of life, we're just going at different speeds to the same destination of enlightened. We need to come together and meditate on healing the planet at the same hour at least once a week or more. I'm looking to put this in action soon.
There's a great song has the line "We will live again" by Robbie Robertson "The Ghost Dance". If you aren't familiar with the "ghost dance" and why it was important to Native American history check out videos here about it. There's also an very good documentary with Kevin Costner about the full and real history of the Native Americans which is hard to find. Most ate from the white man history which is mostly dogma and propaganda.

I took a six credit botany class, and I don’t remember our DNA being discussed. It was one of my most favorite classes and harder than heck. It was more than twenty years ago though, so maybe I had just forgotten it, but this is something I think I would’ve remembered.
My Nindede (Dad) always took the time to teach us about being with nature. I remember a number of lessons out in the cold or in the heat of the sun with him, my nimama (Mom) too. Our Nindede always made it a point for us to learn how to set up a trap, fish and hunt. We do this with respect and honor of the life energies that have been given to us.
Our Parents are no longer with us, but I do have my Uncle who I am very close to even if we are 3,000 miles apart. We love having these kind of discussions. He’s like the greatest Uncle ever. He’s helped me so much with our language too. I will let you know what he says.
You’re lucky to have been raised the way you have, and I know you treasure the many memories of your experiences. Always hold them dear in your heart, even the difficult ones. I hope your Parents are still with you. If so, ask them questions of their youth and write down the answers to everything you want to pass down to your children one day. It’s the one thing I regret the most. I truly believe I’ve lost a lot because of it, and this where my Uncle has come in.
I recently had 14 months of chemo, so my memory isn’t what it used to be, and I’m still having a lot of difficulty, however, I am still here, so it’s all good. It may be why I cannot remember either. Huge swaths of my memory are gone. I struggle every day remembering simple words. This has been one of the hardest parts since I was known for my memory and large vocabulary. I used to love learning words I had never heard of before. Now, I have one word a day in our language that I am trying to learn or relearn. Today is, gichi-mookomaanimowin. Dang, I almost had it. This is my second day working on it. Sometimes I have it, sometimes I don’t. I thought relearning our language would make me feel better than losing gichi-mookimaanimowin (english language). I am also trying to incorporate our words in my day.
Please, no pity, it is what it is. I am alright, and I am alive, and I’m loving life. I just wanted to explain why I may not be remembering something I think is so important. Our DNA is the same of our trees. So cool.

I am WYNEMIA Of the Lumbee tribes originated from Pembrook North Carolina, and I could not agree more with the elder, with all of our people where earth people, I love the fact that my Native American heritage has spilled into the lives of my children and our family members as a humble nation that's been driven to do things we would not of ordinarily of done. Worrying about myself, my family, friends...all the innocent lives that have to be thrown between the mess. For so long I've hated human kind because we're supposed to be better. We have the ablilty to be so much better than this. I guess after understanding people more that hate diminished into just disappointment. I even cry when I see other countries caring enough to ban together to fight against those trying to keep us sepearate and against one another. I'm just really surprised this many good people exist. But I think this time is the most I've ever learned about other people. I don't know if you already said where you live but, I don't know what to say. Feels like "I wish you the best" is too empty to say. Guess everyone's experience in the comments made me interested in commenting too.

I love Native American beliefs and culture, I’ve always found it fascinating. And their religion and way of life feels right, everything they did was out of respect and appreciation. From food, crops, hunting, personal items, to their God’s and spirits. They never would kill more then what was absolutely required. The way they respect and care for their elders. How they treat the nature around them. It’s beautiful, and I hope one day we can return to this life. So we may save our earth and all who live on it. D. D. Some have memories from before their life, too. We are eternal spirit and from what I have gathered, when we physically die, we return to the collective consciousness from which we came. Any reviewing of our lives would be done by us. I wonder how many have created a hell for themselves due to guilt or whatever the are feeling at the time of passing. All I can say for sure is we did not "begin" here in the 3D plane. We chose to come here and chose many aspects of our lives beforehand, to grow and learn while here. I know part of why we're here is to learn to love one another and learn to get along. It is really something to realize that when we leave this dualistic world, we likely won't carry our human emotions, at least not for long after, and we will be whole again, we will literally lay down our burdens.
Than again, I, and others like me, could be mistaken.

I'm choctaw, and was raised by learning that just because you can't hear a blade of grass sing or a tree talk does not mean it's not living.my grandfather prayed and gave thanks to a tree before he cut it down.i give thanks to a deer I kill or a tree I cut down as well.
