Since the separation of his parents in 2006, J.Reyez and his family struggled to make ends meet financially and he has taken it upon himself to help out anyway he can from helping out with the bills to helping put food on the table. Growing up, J.Reyez had a background of doing things a lot of people consider to be wrong and in the summer of 2006, he ran into some trouble with the law, making it hard for him to live the normal life he wishes upon himself day in day out. After pleading guilty to his charge, he was released and now has dedicated his life to the one thing that helped him deal with his emotions and escape from the troubled life he has lived, MUSIC.
The J stands for the initial of his first name (Justin) and the Reyez (Rise, Eyez with an R) stands for his fast elevation since stepping in to the music game. Born in East yet raised in the West, this young lyricist displays a disciplined work ethic rarely seen at his age with a quite confidence of an industry veteran.
J.Reyez has emerged as one of Canadaβs most multi dimensional Hip Hop prospects versed in the new school DIY βDo It Yourselfβ era of writing, producing, recording, mixing/engineering, photography/graphic design and most recently directing and editing music videoβs. He has been profiled on HipHopCanada.com and Hip Hopβs biggest online video sharing site, WorldStarHipHop.com along side a recently produced music video featuring Canadian Hip hop heavy weight Mayhem Morearty. His smooth transition from verse to verse in a rhyme is continued from shot to shot in the videos he produces. This βdouble edged swordβ is cutting through the fat of Maple Leaf rap leaving listeners to a leaner cut of prime rhymes.
Sought after as the fresh vision for street artists, some industry insiders say he is taking the online indie game to another level through his Youtube and Myspace creations. Also understanding the importance of artistic collaboration J.Reyez teamed up with Hamilton R&B sensation Chris Jackson on the track βSuffocateβ which premiered on Buffalo NYβs radio station 93.7 WBLK and climbed the charts to #1 on the Unsigned Hype radio show. J.Reyez has also been played in heavy rotation on Londonβs 94.9 FM βThe Come Up Showβ and 106.9 FM βThe Xβ and 93.3 CFMU βLive and Directβ and featured in HipHopCanada.com, the Hamilton Spectator, the HypeofToronto.com, and most recently Aznraps.com. This balance of underground online presence and main stream media support demonstrates this young talent is making moves well beyond the 905 boarders.
So needless to say his GRIND is now paying off as his legion of fans are quickly growing globally online. As they closely watch his every move, he has consistently stepped his game up song after song and show after show, video after video. Before even turning 18, J.Reyez had 25 regional shows under his belt and captured the underground hip hop circles through his relentless hustle. To top it off he is an officially sponsored artist for the clothing line Tragic Glory whose message is to always turn negative situations into positive ones through their involvement with world vision sponsorship as well as donating to the Canadian Cancer Society. J.Reyez is exactly what is needed for Canadian Hip Hop, while others wait, he is already doing it for himself.

Miss being around me, yeah it ain't easy
I've been working hard, i've been busy
I've been on your mind, girl you miss me?
I'm getting tired of work
Having you by my side i don't feel the hurt
If i didn't have you i would rather eat dirt
I wish we had the more time to go see the world
What i can't say to you i'll say in my rhymes
One touch from you i'll get paralyzed
I swear baby i miss you just to clarify
Imma get that bag
I don't look at tags
Imma get that cash
Now it's time for me to brag
I just hope you miss me, miss me
Miss being around me, yeah it ain't easy
I've been working hard, i've been busy
I've been on your mind, girl you miss me?
I work too hard
I got two cars
Living life a rockstar
Flow go crazy i got more bars
All these lyrics coming from the heart
Imma get big imma go to mars
I promise you i won't have downfall
Never see me with my arms crossed
I want everything man i want it all
Yeah she got me working!
Yeah she got me working!
Nah nah nah
I just hope you miss me, miss me
Miss being around me, yeah it ain't easy
I've been working hard, i've been busy
I've been on your mind, girl you miss me?
In J.Reyez's song "Miss Me," the lyrics depict a relationship where one partner is aware that the other is playing them. The first verse expresses this sense of betrayal, with the singer recognizing that their partner is only interested in them for the physical aspect of their relationship. Despite enjoying the physical side of their relationship, the singer ultimately decides to leave their partner, as their feelings have been disrespected. The chorus emphasizes the singer's decision to leave and how their partner will come to regret their actions.
The second verse continues with this theme, with the singer expressing frustration with their partner's indecision and lack of commitment. Their partner's inability to make a choice ultimately leads to their downfall, and the singer is able to move on. The bridge of the song emphasizes the singer's feelings of resentment towards their partner, who they feel has wasted their time and ultimately hurt them.
Overall, "Miss Me" is a song that speaks to the experience of being betrayed in a relationship and the decision to move on from someone who doesn't appreciate you. The lyrics are honest and straight to the point, and the chorus provides a catchy hook that emphasizes the singer's determination to leave.

I can tell that ya playing me
I realize that you are deceiving me
From A to Z
Every aspect of our relationship is deceitful
So basically
To put it simply
You tryna creep
You are attempting to cheat on me
Only down to freak
You are only interested in sexual things
When the mood is up
You only want intimacy when it suits you
And the talk is cheap
Our conversations have no real value
Kinda shit that I like to fight
I enjoy confronting you about this behavior
Dick is good so I ride the bike
Your sexual performance is enjoyable, but not enough to keep me
You kiss it good just the way I like
Your ability to please me physically is not enough to make me stay
All through the night
We engage in physical intimacy throughout the night
I been tryna give you reasons
I have attempted to explain why your behavior is harmful to me
Keep yo focus baby all on me
I want you to prioritize our relationship and be faithful to me
But you disrespect my feelings
You continue to ignore my concerns and act deceitfully
So I gotta find a way to leave
I must end this relationship for my own wellbeing
I can get on the same shit that you on
I could act the same way as you
Even tho that im right it still make it two wrong
Even though I am moral, it still wouldn't make an immoral relationship right
It is to late now to see what you got
You will only see what you've lost after it's gone
See how it feel when the other shoe drops
Experience the consequences of your actions
Youre gonna miss me now
You will regret losing me
I be gone I be gone I be gone I be gone
I will leave and never come back
Feelings different now
My emotions have changed
Aint no coming back home I be gone I be gone
I will not return to this relationship
Every time I try going away
Every time I attempt to end things
You come in begging me to stay
You try to persuade me to not leave
That kinda love that you missing
The love you recall is not realistic
Was honestly not the vision
That idea of love was not my intention
Subtracted far from remission
The relationship was unhealthy and did not improve
You lose
You are the one who will ultimately regret your actions
Got tired of playing with you
I grew weary of engaging in a dishonest relationship
That's what that playing a do
It inevitably ends up being hurtful for both parties
I gave you more time to choose
I allowed you time to make a decision about our relationship
You tied your neck in the noose
You made the decision that led to the end of the relationship
You hung yo self like a fool
Your own actions led to your downfall
Now whos singing love songs
You realize the true value of love too late
I promise that the love gone
I guarantee that love has been lost

@Vindooly
So glad you're back to the chill raps bro! :P
@JReyez
When I first got into music, I couldn't afford to pay directors to shoot my music videos let alone even pay for studio time so my only option was to learn everything on my own with the minimal resources I had. I use to watch hours of tutorials on YouTube trying to do this shit foreal lol
My mentality has always been to keep trying to improve the quality with each project and step out of my comfort zone and continue growing. Even tho it takes me foreverrr to complete a damn project since I'm doing all the work but the support I get from everyone I connect with when they see the work makes it feel so much more of an accomplishment knowing I did this shit and really do this shit!
Make sure y'all drop a comment and share the video!
