BEAT IT
Jackson (Michael) Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Don't want to see your face, you better disappear
The fire's in their eyes and their words are really clear
So beat it, just beat it
You better run, you better do what you can
Don't want to see no blood, don't be a macho man
You want to be tough, better do what you can
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
They're out to get you, better leave while you can
Don't want to be a boy, you want to be a man
You want to stay alive, better do what you can
So beat it, just beat it
You have to show them that you're really not scared
You're playin' with your life, this ain't no truth or dare
They'll kick you, then they beat you,
Then they'll tell you it's fair
So beat it, but you want to be bad
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or who's right
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Beat it, beat it, beat it
The song "Beat It" by Michael Jackson was released in 1983 as part of his iconic album Thriller. The lyrics of the song revolve around a message of peace and non-confrontation, urging the listener to walk away from confrontations and violent situations rather than trying to prove their toughness or bravery. The song speaks to a common human instinct to prove oneself in the face of a challenge but also the danger of escalating violence if one does not back down.
The first verse of the song sets the scene of the conflict- the singer is being warned to stay away from a particular group or neighborhood, and the tension is mounting. The second verse advises the listener to leave and not engage in violence, as it will only lead to more trouble and bloodshed. The chorus reinforces the message, telling the listener that no one wants to be defeated, but the priority should be to display one's strength through nonviolence rather than aggression. The song's bridge is a reaffirmation of the message, emphasizing that whether or not one is right or wrong doesn't matter when it comes to violence, and it is best to avoid it altogether.
Overall, the song sends a powerful message about the importance of avoiding violence and being the bigger person in heated situations. The song was a commercial and critical success, becoming one of Jackson's most iconic tracks and winning two Grammy awards. It remains a popular and beloved song to this day, continuing to inspire listeners to choose peace over violence.

It was agreed upon in advance that there would be no money involved.
Eddie was under a contract with the other guys in "Van Halen" that they would not go out on their own and play with other bands for any type of monetary gain.
This was a great thing for both Michael Jackson and Eddie Van Halen.
Eddie has a solo on a song that was part of an album that sold more copies than any other album in human history...
Michael Jackson managed to get Eddie Van Halen to do a lead guitar solo on his album "Thriller".
It was a good deal for both of them.

Jesus Christ is Lord. He is the only way to Heaven. We do not go to Heaven for being a “good person”, God will judge us on HIS standards, He is the ultimate judge. God sent Jesus Christ to die for all of our sins and our belief in him covers our sins, he paid the ultimate price for us all. Read a Bible (King James Version), it’s very black and white. Our eternal soul is at stake! This life is temporary, our soul is forever.
Proof Jesus is the Only Way:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
-John 14:6
Proof on How to make Heaven:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
-Romans 10:9
Hope this helps ✝️

Eddie did a good solo but the meat and potatoes of the guitar work (and bass) was done by Steve Lukather. Paul Jackson Jr is credited too and I believe he did some R&B guitar strumming.
