Jamie's Elsewhere have almost seen a split community amongst their fan base after the departure of their former lead singer, Chris Paterson, after their debut LP, Guidebook for Sinners Turned Saints. Jamie's Elsewhere have since recruited Aaron Pauley for vocals in their sophomore release, as well as Mike Wellnitz on guitar and Scott Daby on drums. Mike Spearman on keyboards/backing vocals, Chance Mederios on bass and Matt Scarpelli on lead guitar.
On August 29, 2011, Jamie's Elsewhere revealed they have left their label, Victory Records, via a press release on their Facebook page.
On January 3, 2012, Jamie's Elsewhere announced the release of their new EP entitled Reimagined, which will consist of re-recordings of songs from their 2010 album They Said a Storm Was Coming in a more mellow and acoustic form, rather the band's traditional post-hardcore style. The release date was set for February 14, 2012.
In 2012, it was stated that Aaron Pauley would be touring with Of Mice & Men on both vocals and bass. Because Jamie's Elsewhere was touring Japan at the same time, rumors began to spread that Pauley's departure was imminent. Pauley himself has since revealed that he is no longer a member of Jamie's Elsewhere. However, he is still on good terms with the band. It is speculated that Pauley will have a permanent position in Of Mice & Men following the Vans Warped Tour. Justin Kyle, who previously took over vocals during their Japan 2012 tour, announced on November 30 that he is Jamie's Elsewhere's official new vocalist.
In December 2012, Alternative Press premiered the lyric video for a new Jamie's Elsewhere song titled, "A Ghost With an Image", which was originally planned for the third album. Along with the new song, it was announced officially that Justin Kyle and Don Vedda had been added as touring vocalist and rhythm guitarist, respectively. On October 12, 2013, Alternative Press premiered the new song, "Sick Fiction", which featured the debut of the band's new vocalist, Justin Kyle.
Justin Kyle and Jamie's Elsewhere went on tour in 2014 but were unable to finish the tour due to "various differences." Justin Kyle and Jamie's Elsewhere had not commented on their status until September 3, 2015, when Kyle announced on his Instagram that the band was officially broken up.
In a Twitter video uploaded to the official Jamie's Elsewhere Twitter account on April 26, 2020, frontman Aaron Pauley announced that the band are working on new music and were planning on a 10th anniversary tour for They Said A Storm Was Coming but due to the COVID-19 pandemic the tour has been pushed back to 2021. Alongside this a new line of merchandise was released.
On December 4, 2020, the band announced via Twitter a new song titled "The Soil and The Seed" will be released on December 11, 2020.
In early 2023 they announced they had signed with California based label SharpTone Records. On July 19, 2023 they released their comeback EP 'Paradise'

We set sail without
As much as one distraction
But it seems that I have sank
Because of my past actions
And mistakes that I have made
And attempts to evade all
The consequences now
Washed away…
They said a storm was coming and
"You'll be washed away!"
Maybe now I'll be made clean
While I bathe in your seas
As I seek out all the dreams
That I once had
Of a life already lived
Of a gift already given
That was taken from me far too soon
Halt! Where is your security now
When you begged for a lifeline
And were thrown an anchor instead?
And, has the smallest grain of
Sand traveled up the hourglass?
Or, has the sun ever set
In the east for you
Or any other man?
Face forward
Swim towards the surface
And look ahead to the life
On the new horizon
There was never any way
Of going back to the old world
With any sort of victory
Or good tidings of new discovery
Fortune never favored me
And the oceans were never big enough
To hold all of our iniquities
And secrets in its clear, blue embrace
I will ascend from the bottom
To be born again
"They Said A Storm Was Coming" is a song that explores the themes of regret, redemption and acceptance. The lyrics depict the journey of the singer who is facing the consequences of past actions and mistakes that led to their downfall. The line "For one hundred days we set sail without as much as one distraction" suggests that the singer was on a journey without any obstacles or distractions. However, eventually, they sink because of their own mistakes and attempts to avoid the consequences. Now, the singer is struggling to cope with the aftermath of what they have done wrong.
The song references a storm coming, which can be interpreted as a metaphor for the consequences of one's actions catching up to them. The line "Maybe now I'll be made clean while I bathe in your seas" suggests that the singer is seeking redemption and hoping to be cleansed of their mistakes. They are looking to move forward and seek out the dreams they had before their fall. The lines "Fortune never favored me/ And the oceans were never big enough to hold all of our iniquities and secrets in its clear, blue embrace" reflect the idea that no luck or hiding place can save one from the consequences of their actions. The singer accepts their fate and plans to rise above it, with a newfound perspective and appreciation for life.
Overall, "They Said A Storm Was Coming" is a poignant and introspective piece that encourages listeners to reflect on their own past mistakes and seek redemption.

For one hundred days
We embarked on a journey for a long time
We set sail without
We started our journey without any distractions
As much as one distraction
We did not let anything interrupt our journey
But it seems that I have sank
I failed and am no longer successful
Because of my past actions
My previous behavior has led me to this point
And mistakes that I have made
My errors have caused problems for me
And attempts to evade all
I tried to avoid the consequences of my actions
The consequences now
I am experiencing the results of my choices
Being washed away
My misdeeds are being removed
Washed away…
I am being cleansed
They said a storm was coming and
Others warned me of the impending difficulties
"You'll be washed away!"
They told me that I would suffer the consequences
Maybe now I'll be made clean
Perhaps I will become a better person through these challenges
While I bathe in your seas
As I experience this situation on this journey
As I seek out all the dreams
I am trying to fulfill all of my aspirations
That I once had
That I used to have
Of a life already lived
Of an existence that has already ended

That was taken from me far too soon

I will ascend from the bottom
I will rise from the depths
