Rural Mississippi was not a friendly setting for a budding artist. Many problems arose for the Lister brothers, most notably Jeremy's hospitalization after a vicious group beating left him near death with severe head trauma. After recovering from the attack, Jeremy found himself feeling more empowered than ever to continue developing his creativity through music. At ages 12 and 13, he traveled through Europe and the U.K. with his parents. The trip changed his perspective on life and music and opened his ears to bands from across the Atlantic. Upon returning to the States, he began exploring different musical outlets, ranging from an A cappella quartet to a progressive rock band. Setting out on his own in 2003, Jeremy moved to Nashville, TN, bringing his first EP "Shooting Star" with him. Here he began playing writers nights and passing his CD along to anyone who would listen.
In 2005, he released his second album, the "So Far" EP, and quickly gained the attention of Warner Bros. Records. The label put him in the studio, where he wrote over 100 songs during '06. In the spring of 2007, Lister signed a record deal with WBR. His debut release, the "Just One Day" EP, was released digitally on November 20, 2007. He's currently touring and working on songs for his full length expected to be released in 08.
Santa's Lost His Mojo
Jeremy Lister Lyrics

Santa's lost his mojo
He spent 2000 years in the northern pole
Building for his children, now it's taken its toll
Been overworked now he's losing his light
We got to get him better before Christmas time
Santa's lost his mojo
The elves and the reindeer have done their share
Trying to find a remedy to break a spell
But old Saint Nick has gone and lost his mind
He's down in Mexico drinking tequila and wine
Ho, ho, ho, ho, oh no
Santa's lost his mojo
Ohh, we ought to make a stand
Ohh, we all need a helping hand sometimes
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
We've got to get Kringle back to feeling jolly
Before it's too, it's too late, yeah
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
Ho, ho, ho, ho, oh no
Santa's lost his mojo
Ho, ho, ho, ho, oh no
Santa's lost his mojo
Jeremy Lister's song, "Santa's Lost His Mojo," gives a humorous take on the concept of Santa losing his spirit and falling into depression. The opening lines, "Ho, ho, ho, ho, oh no, Santa's lost his mojo," set the tone for the song, as it tells the story of Santa's mental and emotional breakdown after having worked tirelessly for 2000 years, building and preparing gifts for children across the world. The stress of this labor has finally caught up with him, causing him to lose his light and energy.
The lyrics touch on the efforts of the elves and reindeer to find a remedy for Santa's state, but his mind is so far gone that he's gone to Mexico drinking tequila and wine, instead of doing the work he should be doing. Throughout the song, Lister emphasizes the importance of finding a solution to help Santa regain his jolly spirit in time for Christmas.
The chorus, "Deck the halls with boughs of holly, we've got to get Kringle back to feeling jolly, before it's too, it's too late," highlights the urgency of the situation and the need to come together to help Santa. The song then ends with a repetition of the first chorus, driving home the point that something needs to be done to bring Santa back to his former self.
