La vie en rose
Jerry Vale Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose

When you kiss me, Heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose
When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart, a world where roses bloom
And when you speak, angels sing from above
Everyday words seem to turn into love songs

Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose

Quand il me prend dans ses bras
Il me parle tout bas
Je vois la vie en rose

Il me dit des mots d'amour
Des mots de tous les jours
Et ca me fait quelque chose

When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart, a world where roses bloom
And when you speak, angels sing from above
Everyday words seem to turn into love songs

Give your heart and soul to me

And life will always be
La vie en rose

Nice sensible and plausible comment.
For me it was basically that he lacked the kind of gorgeous tone possessed not only by many of his pop rivals, but
by scores of country singers, not to speak of jazz and classical
artists. Yet, like you realize,
he had enough talent going for him that it is easy for me to comprehend people liking him, whereas, with Bob Dylan, I cannot comprehend falling in love with his voice, AT ALL! I am actually not averse to Sinatra's voice. I bought STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT & EMBRACEABLE YOU,
among others. But I always thought Sinatra was a better actor than a singer, and he was a
master of repartee
as a guest or host on
talk shows. Respected him for all his charitable efforts
and assistance he gave to aspiring artists. (Google Brook Benton on THAT OLD
FEELING and learn why Sinatra had "Brook Benton Room"
in his mansion.)
Peace.
