As hard as it was for Jessica, no carb (or at least low carb) diets are healthy for you. People consume way more carbs than necessary in modern times.
The suits pressuring her to take diet pills was pretty shitty, but that's not nearly as bad as paying tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars to permanently alter your body and risking complications in the process to fit some standard in this looks obsessed, perfection obsessed society.
I would give my left nut to go back to this era rather than continue to live in this shallow, soulless, Instagram hellhole of a timeline.
TL;DR any criticism you may have of the entertainment industry in the late 90s-early 00s is 10x if not 100x worse now.
