Jet West is lead vocalist/guitarist Scott Floquet, lead guitarist/vocalist Chris Warner, bassist/vocalist Deren Schneider and drummer, Derek Potter. The band's varied musical style fuses traditional rock with elements of reggae and hard rock, a sound born from the beaches of LA and San Diego. The group as a whole emits the laid back California vibe that demands a beer in the hand and a steady beating head.
Whether thumping from a car, hitting hard in some ear-buds or blaring loudly to a massive energetic crowd, Jet West will introduce your ears to a unique blend of music that will put you in a good mood anywhere, anytime.
If the live show is the main course, Jet West is pleasantly full. They attribute their motivation, discipline, and musical growth to their die-hard fans who go to great lengths to be part of the Jet West music scene. With a never ending goal to engage and captivate each person in the crowd, Jet West strives to move the floor from underneath their fans’ feet and engage them to become one with the music.
In 2010, Jet West released their first full length album, “Dropping In” on their independent label, Hidden Reef Records, and a musical journey around the nation was spawned. Their debut album was nominated in the San Diego Music Awards for best new World Music Album 2011. Jet West has shared the stage with such big names as Slightly Stoopid, Authority Zero, The Aggrolites and Tomorrows Bad Seeds.
With music that touches on societal pressures, sexual conquests, partying, relationships and their love for the beach, Jet West has what it is you are looking for...that harmonious sound that makes you want to take a long drive, drop in an overhead wave, lose yourself in the moment with another soul, or simply kick it on the porch.

Water flows over cotton candy sand.
Taking our time as the tide rolls in.
Kiss the tip, inhale, hold it in.
Oh she floats to the sky.
She's a bird, her soaring wings are open wide.
In this moment she realize…
She's got Irie Irie Eyes
Irie Irie Eyes
Irie Eyes
She says I've never felt quite like this before.
Takes a hit and then she hits the floor.
While on her back she smiles to the sun.
Not working today, having to much fun.
She looks left, she looks right.
Hangs her hammock, gets ready for the night.
Opens her hand, hugs the sand.
From this day forward, home will be this land.
Irie Irie Eyes
Irie Irie Eyes (IRIE!)
Irie Irie Eyes
Irie Eyes
Why, why, why, why, why
Why, why, why, why, why
Why, why, why, why, why
Why, why, why, why, why
She's got Irie Irie Eyes
Irie Irie Eyes
Irie Irie Eyes
Irie
Irie Irie Eyes
Irie Irie Eyes (IRIE)
Irie Irie Eyes
Irie
Yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah
In the lyrics of "Irie Eyes" by Jet West, the natural beauty of the world is celebrated. The lyrics paint an idyllic picture of a landscape where fruit falls from trees and water flows over cotton candy sand. The singer takes pleasure in the moment, taking their time as the tide rolls in and kissing the tip, inhaling, and holding it in. The woman the song is about, referred to as "she," is also enjoying the beauty of her surroundings. She's so taken with the experience that she feels like she's flying, lifted up like a bird with her wings open wide. As she admires the world around her, the woman comes to a realization: she has "Irie Irie Eyes." This phrase is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing this feeling of happiness, contentment, and relaxed bliss.
The second half of the song reveals that the woman is taking a break from work and enjoying this beautiful place. She hangs a hammock and hugs the sand, feeling a deep connection with the earth. She's struck by the unique beauty of the surroundings and doesn't want to leave. The final refrain repeats "Irie Irie Eyes" over and over again, making it clear that this experience has deeply affected both the singer and the woman the song is about.

I LOVE THIS GROUP AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE SONG!!!!!! I used to live in San Diego and every time I ear any of your music, I'm instantly reminded of mission beach and Coronado island and all the laid back places out there along the beach. Life was so easy and simple, no stress and no worries. Can't wait to go back to California and San Diego especially just for one of your shows. Keep up the good work!
