In "Something in the Water," JoJo sings about feeling a strong attraction to someone and losing control over her emotions. She describes feeling like there is "something in the water" that is affecting her behavior and causing her to act out of character. She says she is "watching all his movements" and "pulling apart everything that he's doing" in an effort to understand her feelings. However, she feels like she is "held up by the police" and needs freedom from her own thoughts and desires.
JoJo compares her situation to being in tainted water and feeling like she's drowning. She feels like she can't control her feelings for this person, even though it's not like her to act this way. She believes that something is influencing her behavior, but she doesn't know what it is. LOVE this song.. anything by Jojo is amazing. But this song is obviously unfinished. It hasn't been mixed by the studio, and it's basically a Demo. I wish that she would re-record this. Not that the vocal isn't AMAZING.. because it is, but i would love a professional version. :)
