In 1998, O'Meara started her music career in the hip hop/rap group, 2-4 Family. She remained with the band for only one single release, Stay. In 1997 Jo was recruited to join a new pop group S Club 7. She was a prominent member of the British group, singing most of the group's lead vocals, as well as acting with the group in their own TV series and in their movie, Seeing Double. The band split in 2003.
In 2005 she signed a solo record deal with Sanctuary Records. She released her debut single What Hurts The Most in September 2005 followed by her album Relentless. Unfortunately both failed to achieve chart success and she left her record label prior to the release of a second single.
In February 2006 she took part in the BBC reality show Just the Two of Us. Her singing partner was Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain. The pair came third in the competition. The following year Jo appeared on Celebrity Big Brother with plans to use the shows popularity to relaunch her music career. She initially received a positive reaction from the crowd and was the initial favourite to win, however she became embroiled in controversy and was accused of racist behaviour towards fellow contestant Shilpa Shetty. O'Meara was the fourth housemate to be evicted and upon leaving the Big Brother house she found herself amidst public outrage. Numerous newspaper and television interviews followed with O'Meara apologising for her behaviour but denying any racial motivation.
Since November 2008, O'Meara has been performing in various nightclubs, universities and Butlins holiday camps around the United Kingdom along with fellow S Club members Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole as S Club 3. She has since joined Innocent Records and has recorded a second studio album These Little Moments due for release later in 2010.
I Believe in You

But Im Reading Every Line
You Leave To Many Words Unspoken
But You Say Your Doing Fine
Even Tho Your Smile Is Always Bright
I Can See The Heartache In Your Eyes
I Know What You Make Of Trys To Hide
Ill Take You Through Your Darkest Hour
I Have Been There Too
But You Pulled Me Through
And I'll Do The Same Thing
You Look Inside your Heart
And Find The Peice That Hasn't Broken
Wont Let You Fall Apart
Whatever You Do I Believe In You
I Believe In You, I Believe In You
I Believe In You, I Believe In You
Its Time For You To Spread Your Wings And Fly On
And Find Your Way Back Home
Tomorrow Doesn't Have To Be Your Yesterday
You'll Never Be Alone
Even Tho You Want To Run & Hide
Even Tho You Cry & Look Inside
You'll Always Have Me There Beside You
Cause I believe in You
Ill Take You Through Your Darkest Hour
I Have Been There Too
But You Pulled Me Through
And I'll Do The Same Thing
You Look Inside your Heart
And Find The Piece That Hasn't Broken
Wont Let You Fall Apart
Whatever You Do I Believe In You
Stop Hurting, Start Learning
You've Got To let Your Beauty Show
It's Your Time Its Alright
And This Is My Way To Let You Know
Even Tho Your Smile Is Always Bright
I Can See The Heartache In Your Eyes
I Know What You Make Of Trys To Hide
I believe in You
Ill Take You Through Your Darkest Hour
I Have Been There Too
But You Pulled Me Through
And I'll Do The Same Thing
You Look Inside your Heart
And Find The Piece That Hasn't Broken
Wont Let You Fall Apart
Whatever You Do I Believe In You
I Believe In You, I Believe In You
I Believe In You, I Believe In You
I Believe In You, I Believe In You
I Believe in You, I Believe In You
I Believe in You, I Believe In You
I Believe in You, I Believe In You
The lyrics of Jo O'Meara's I Believe in You song are an uplifting message about the unwavering support and belief that one person can give to another during challenging times. Throughout the song, the singer acknowledges the struggles and pain that the person she addresses is experiencing, despite their efforts to mask them behind a smiling façade. Despite the person's reluctance to open up, the singer encourages them to share their burdens and take comfort in the knowledge that she believes in them.
The chorus of the song, repeated multiple times throughout the track, has lyrics that express the singer's determination to stand by the person's side through thick and thin. She assures them that she will help them through their darkest hours, having been in their shoes before, and that she believes in them even when they themselves don't. The final section of the song serves as a call to action, with the singer encouraging the person to stop hiding and start living, to show their true beauty to the world and embrace their future with hope.
Overall, the lyrics of I Believe in You are a powerful ode to the capacity of support and encouragement to lift people out of their struggles and give them the courage to persevere.
