I'm Yours
Joe G. Henry Lyrics

Oh oh oh
Something's rattled your cage
Stopped me dead in my tracks
Been through hell and high tide, but we never looked back
I thought that we couldn't lose and then I bet all I had
From the top of the world I started seeing the cracks
Am I losing you now
Am I losing you now
Why would you change on me
When I took a chance on you
Is it upsetting you that everything's in place
Is this how you play the game
Giving your hand away
When I'm all in and still you roll the dice
And I'm your sacrifice
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Got no cards up my sleeve, nothing under my hat
The moment of truth, there's no going back
Went from Bonnie and Clyde to Jeckyll and Hyde
We're fire and ice, we're fire and ice
Am I loosing it now
Am I loosing it now
Why did you change on me
When I took a chance on you
Was it upsetting you that everything's in place
Is this how you play the game
Giving your hand away
When I'm all in and still you roll the dice
And I'm your sacrifice
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Is this how you play, the game
When I'm all in and still you roll the dice
Giving your hand, away
When I'm all in and still you roll the dice
And I'm your sacrifice
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
I'm still a believer
In Joe G. Henry's song "I'm Yours," the singer begins by noting that something has changed. He had been committed to the relationship but now realizes that something is off. He compares their relationship to being atop the world, but suddenly he spots the cracks, indicating that things are not as perfect as they may have seemed before. He then expresses his concern about losing the person he is addressing, and questions whether he has already lost them. The chorus sees the singer questioning why the other person has changed, why they are now acting differently. He wonders if they are upset that things are finally settled in their relationship or if they are intentionally playing a game. The singer expresses his frustration as he has gone all in for the relationship, but the other person seems to be playing with his emotions as if he is just a sacrificial pawn in their game. The song concludes with the singer stating that despite everything, he still believes in the relationship.

Wow, I didn't know his son was following in his footsteps. I'm a huge JT fan and this has always been my favorite song. I first heard it in college in 1974, and I had tears. So glad our lives our blessed to have people like JT!
