I Ain't Ever
John Fogerty Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well, I ain't never,
I ain't never, seen nobody like you,
No no never, have I ever,
Seen nobody like you-oo-oo.

You call me up, say you'll meet me at nine,
I have to hurry, hurry, but I'm there on time,
I walk right up and knock on your door,
The landlord says "She ain't here no more."

[Chorus]
I ain't never, oh darlin',
Seen nobody like you,
But I love ya, yeah I love ya,
I love you just the same.

Well, you tell me things that you don't mean,
You got me livin' in a haunted dream,
You make me do things, I don't want to do,
My friends they stay away,
But what's so wrong with you?

[Chorus]

I love you just the same.

This is John Fogerty playing every instrument & singing all the parts, including back-up singing, too! John Fogerty is The Blue Ridge Rangers. John plays 20 instruments or so to make this album. The reason he called himself “The Blue Ridge Rangers is, not long after the break-up of his beloved band “Creedence Clearwater Revival” he didn’t want to cash I on the Creedence name & so his one man band could be accepted on its own merits! I believe he accomplished this. That is integrity, folks!👍
