Prior to his time as John and the Time Traveling Bicycle, Harmon spent from 1994 to 2007 writing for and performing in Central Kentucky based bands, including: Chiaroscuro (1994-2000), Attic Down (2000-2003), and Van Gogh Sky (2005-2007). After relocating to San Diego in 2008, Harmon recorded and released the 2009 studio project/electronic album, “Life in the Temporary,” under the moniker, Carriage House Saints.
After a few years away from live performances, Harmon took the stage as John and the Time Traveling Bicycle, for his first West Coast performance; a show in L.A. in June of 2011.
On JatTTB's, “Life as a Kite,” Harmon wrote and performed all parts. After playing with a full band in support of the debut, Harmon returned to solo shows in 2014, playing only select dates.
The second offering from JatTTB, “The Acquisition of Memories,” is due to be released in Spring 2015. Although Harmon again writer and performer on the recording, early reports are that he is making more use of the electric guitar on this sophomore offering.

Hold on
No one, no one has ever
Made it so far in time
No one x5
Not no one
Knows what happens next
Lonely
Listen, wear your headphones
And I'll whisper you the code
Of a helper application
That you can download
It's called Remember
Casue no one
No one x4
Knows what happens next
Because time travel is lonely
Lonely
The lyrics of Prelude to Time Travel are reflective and contemplative, expressing the feelings of loneliness and uncertainty that inevitably come with time travel. The first lines, "Hold on keep it together, hold on," are a rallying cry to take control of life and not let the overwhelming nature of time travel take over. The next lines, "No one, no one has ever made it so far in time, no one, not no one knows what happens next," express the uncertainty and fear that comes with the unknown, especially when traveling through time.
The chorus, "Because time travel is lonely, lonely," tugs at the heartstrings and emphasizes the feeling of isolation that comes with time travel. The next lines, "Listen, wear your headphones, and I'll whisper you the code of a helper application that you can download, it's called Remember," offer a glimmer of hope in the form of a tool to help navigate the emotional challenges of time travel. The final lines, "Cause no one, no one knows what happens next," circle back to the central idea that time travel is an uncertain endeavor, but with a tool like Remember, the journey may be less lonely.
Overall, the lyrics of Prelude to Time Travel are introspective and relatable, painting a picture of the emotional journey that comes with time travel.
