Since we parted ways, you been in my blindspot
Said it was okay, but okay, I lied
I still think about you every other night
Trigger (trigger), trigger (trigger)
Slow down (slow down), pictures (pictures)
And ain't that (ain't that) liquor (liquor)
Now you got me mad all over, all over, all over again
I don't follow you, but I follow your friends
I don't wanna, I don't wanna see you again
'Cause that's gon' make me mad all over again
All over, all over, all over again
I don't follow you, but I follow your friends
I don't wanna, I don't wanna see you again
'Cause that's gon' make me mad all over again
Backwards, backwards
How you got me chasin' after, after you
When I said it didn't mattеr if you move on (move on)
I'm pissed it didn't takе you long
Trigger (trigger), trigger (trigger)
Slow down (slow down), pictures (pictures)
And ain't that (ain't that) liquor (liquor)
Mess him (mess him) with ya? (Ooh, oh)
Now you got me mad all over, all over, all over again
I don't follow you, but I follow your friends
I don't wanna, I don't wanna see you again (yeah, yeah)
'Cause that's gon' make me mad all over again (all over again)
All over, all over, all over again (again)
I don't follow you, but I follow your friends
I don't wanna, I don't wanna see you again (yeah)
'Cause that's gon' make me mad all over again
All over again, yeah
Oh, ay, yeah (woo!)
The lyrics to Josh Levi's song "All Over Again" discuss the lingering feelings and frustration that arise after a breakup. The singer admits to initially pretending that it was okay to move on, but in reality, they still think about their ex every other night. The chorus highlights the conflicting emotions the singer experiences, feeling both mad and compelled to follow their ex's social media through their friends. They express a desire to avoid seeing their ex again because it would only make them mad all over again.
The phrase "trigger, trigger" could metaphorically represent the memories that are activated and resurface, causing emotional reactions. The mention of "pictures" and "liquor" might suggest that these triggers are often associated with visual reminders or intoxication, which amplify the emotions further. The line "Now you got me mad all over again" encapsulates the repetitive nature of the singer's emotional state, feeling overwhelmed by their ongoing feelings for their ex.
The second verse emphasizes the backward nature of the situation, as the singer finds themselves chasing after their ex despite previously claiming that it wouldn't matter if they moved on quickly. The frustration with themselves is evident as they express being mad that it didn't take long for their ex to move on.
Overall, "All Over Again" delves into the complexities of post-breakup emotions, highlighting the struggle to let go and move forward while still being plagued by thoughts of their ex. It captures the rollercoaster of feelings experienced in the aftermath of a relationship, from anger and frustration to longing and confusion.
