It Won't Be Long
Joshua Davis Lyrics

Gathered in the orchard, holding tight to this parched ground
We can stand together patient and strong
Oh Lord, I know it won't be long
You may be uprooted. You may be cast down
You may move freely. You may be bound
If we stand together patient and strong
(It won't be long) Rain will come
(It won't be long)Sun will shine
(It won't be long) Tears will fall, both yours and mine
If we stand together and we sing this song
Oh lord, It won't be long
You may be twisted and bent with years
You may be blistered, consumed, in fear
If we stand together patient and strong
Oh lord, I know it won't be long
If it isn't sharpened, an axe will rust
A hear is hardened if it knows no trust
If we stand together and we sing this song
Oh lord, I know it won't be long
The lyrics of Joshua Davis's song "It Won't Be Long" describe a situation in a valley on the outskirts of a town where people gathered in an orchard are holding onto the parched ground. The singer compels the people to stand together with patience and strength since he's certain that it won't be long before they get relief. The lyrics seemed to be a source of encouragement to the people as it states the importance of unity among them.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "It won't be long," emphasizing the message to be patient and strong as dark times won't last for long. The song's verses describe the different life experiences that people may go through, but the importance of unity as the only key to persistence. The lyrics' messages are simple yet powerful, intentionally written to assure and strengthen the listener, making one feel like there is hope even in situations fraught with challenges.
In conclusion, the song is a call for togetherness, patience, and strength despite diverse experiences. It encourages individuals going through tough times to hold on and believe that their situation will improve with time as they stand together.
