I'm Gonna Laugh You Right Out of My Life
Julianna Raye Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Right out of my life
Laugh and forget this affair
Guess I was foolish to care
So I'm gonna dance you
Right out of my dreams
Try to be carefree and gay
'Cause when our friends begin
That heartless rumor
I know I'll really need
My sense of humor
I'm gonna laugh you
Right out of my life
Make it a beautiful joke
No one will know you broke my heart
But if I find you
And I really meant that last goodbye
Then I'm gonna laugh so hard
I'll cry
If I find you
And I really meant that last goodbye
Then I'm gonna laugh so hard
I'll cry, I'll cry, I'll cry
In "I'm Gonna Laugh You Right Out of My Life" by Julianna Raye, the singer is using humor to cope with the heartbreak caused by the end of a romantic relationship. She plans to laugh away the memories of being with her former lover and move on with her life. The lyrics convey a sense of confidence in the ability to move on, but there is also a hint of vulnerability with the last few lines. She acknowledges that if she were to encounter her ex after saying goodbye, she knows that laughing it off may not be as easy as she thinks.
The song's first verse sets the tone for the rest of the lyrics, with the singer announcing her intention to laugh her former partner out of her life. In the second verse, she takes this a step further by saying she will try to become carefree and laugh away her dreams of being with him. She knows that her friends will start to spread rumors about the breakup, which is why she is determined to maintain a sense of humor throughout the ordeal.
