June Lyrics

Heilige Tod!
Heilige Tod!
Heilige Tod!
Hope had brought us this far
Far enough to cut
The lines “First you take a heart then you tear it apart” in June’s song “Walls” deal with the theme of heartbreak and the agony of a failed relationship. The lyrics symbolize the pain and trauma that come with being separated from someone you hold dear to your heart. The use of “Heilige Tod” which translates to “Holy Death” in German adds to the emotive and intense nature of the song. It's as if June is crying out for help and to be held close as she goes through an emotional time:
The second half of the song speaks about hope, which had held them together for so long, only to eventually be fractured and broken down. The lyrics "Hope had brought us this far, far enough to cut, our heart to pieces" signify how hope can lead to a deeper sense of pain once it is lost. This part in context can appear to highlight the mix of emotions one goes through when losing someone they were close to, there is both a realization of betrayal and an understanding of how much they cared after it's gone.
Overall, June's song "Walls" is a powerful expression of the heartache that comes with relationship breakdowns. The context of hope and loss makes the song more powerful and relatable to listeners who may have gone through similar experiences.
