So far away
Justin Wells Lyrics

Here I am again in this mean old town
And you're so far away from me
And where are you when the sun goes down
You're so far away from me

So far away from me
So far, I just can't see
So far away from me
You're so far away from me

I'm sick and tired of waking up, feeling all alone
When you're so far away from me
I'm so damn tired of makin up on the telephone
And you're so far away from me

So far away from me
So far, I just can't see
So far away from me
You're so far away from me

I get so tired every time I explain
When you're so far away from me
Now you're out in the sun, and I'm out here in the rain
And you're so far away from me

So far away from me
So far, I just can't see

So far away from me
You're so far away from me

Overall Meaning

In “So Far Away,” Justin Wells sings about the pain and loneliness of a long-distance relationship. He expresses frustration and exhaustion with the physical distance that separates him from his partner, and the emotional distance that comes with it as well. He sings about feeling disconnected from his loved one, always having to explain things over the phone and feeling left behind while she enjoys the warmth of the sun.

The chorus of the song repeats the line “so far away from me,” emphasizing the distance between Wells and his lover. The repetition of this phrase, along with the slow tempo of the music, creates a feeling of heaviness and isolation. The desperation in Wells’s voice as he sings about being “sick and tired” of the distance adds to the emotional weight of the song.

Overall, “So Far Away” is a powerful meditation on the difficulties of staying connected in a long-distance relationship. The song captures the sense of longing, frustration, and sadness that can come with being far apart from someone you love.

Justin, I accidentally caught you opening at the Southgate House for Chris Knight. You blew the crowd away. Most of them were left disinterested in Chris's set. About half the crowd left while he played. It was the first time I seen him, in 10 shows, not do an encore. I doubt if he ever let's you open for him again!

I hope you get traction in your career. I have a radio program proposal on local public radio. We will be playing traditional and new traditional music. Yours will be played along side the likes of Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash and Chris Knight. It is deserving. May you enjoy peace and prosperity in this new year and decade.

P.S. I hope you enjoyed that fat stick of BBK I gave you for the ride home.
