Close to Me

And we start each other's fires
We just know that we'll be alright
Even though we're kicked out the party
'Cause we both block everybody
We're the ones they wanna be like
So don't let me down
Born to be wild
Out in the jungle
And I don't wanna be somebody without some body
Close to me
And if it wasn't you
I wouldn't want anybody close to me (yeah, yeah)
Cause I'm an animal, animal, like animal like you
And I don't wanna be somebody without some body
Close to me
Whooo, you can never come to close for comfort
I had to cut my words off I'm being stubborn (stubborn)
I make it no name, you're not that undercover (cover)
And when I jump in, I'm burning rubber (yeah)
Iced out body, didn't go to college (yeah)
Price tag popping when you on a private
Don't say sorry, everyone's watching (ooh, everyone)
When you where I am, everything's timeless
And I don't wanna be somebody without some body
Close to me
And if it wasn't you
I wouldn't want anybody close to me (yeah, yeah)
Cause I'm an animal, animal, like animal like you
And I don't wanna be somebody without some body
Close to me
Close to me
Close to me, eh
Close, yeah, yeah
Cause I'm an animal, animal, like animal like you
And I don't wanna be somebody without some body
Close to me
And if it wasn't you I wouldn't want anybody close to me
Oh, cause I'm an animal, animal, like animal like you
And I don't wanna be somebody without some body
Close to me
Close to me
Close to me, eh
Close to me
The lyrics of "Close To Me" by KIDZ BOP Kids explore the complex dynamics of a relationship between two individuals who acknowledge their flaws and the challenges they face together. The opening lines, "Even though we both know we're liars / And we start each other's fires," suggest that the characters in the song understand that they are not perfect and may not always be truthful with each other. However, they find comfort in the fact that they have a deep connection and believe they will be able to overcome any obstacles that come their way.
The song goes on to describe how the couple often find themselves excluded from social gatherings and isolate themselves from others because they only have eyes for each other. Despite being outcasts in certain social circles, they still feel a sense of superiority, believing that others envy their relationship and aspire to be like them. This sense of exclusivity and mutual admiration adds depth to their bond and reinforces their commitment to each other.
The chorus of the song conveys the intense desire for closeness and connection the characters share. The lines, "And I don't wanna be somebody without some body / Close to me," express their need for companionship and intimacy, emphasizing that they feel incomplete without each other. The mention of being "an animal, animal, like animal like you" signifies a primal, instinctual attraction between them, highlighting the raw and passionate nature of their relationship.
In the bridge of the song, the lyrics touch on themes of vulnerability and defensiveness. The reference to being "stubborn" and cutting off words suggests a reluctance to fully open up and communicate, while the imagery of "burning rubber" and being "iced out body" conveys a sense of recklessness and extravagance. Overall, "Close To Me" portrays a relationship that is intense, tumultuous, and deeply intertwined, where the singers find solace and identity in each other amidst the chaos of the world around them.
