It's Been A Long Long Time
KITTY KALEN HARRY JAMES Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long, long time.
Haven't felt like this, my dear
Since I can't remember when.
It's been a long, long time

You'll never know how many dreams
I've dreamed about you.
Or just how empty they all seemed without you.
So kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long, long time.

Ah, kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long time.
Haven't felt like this my dear

Since I can't remember when
It's been a long, long time.

Never thought that you would be
Standing here so close to me
There's so much I feel that I should say
But words can wait until some other day

I am so glad people heard this in endgame and love it. I learned it from my grandparents when I was a little kid. They were teenagers during WWII, their older brothers fought in it. So that time and this song have a special place in my heart. Thank you so much for posting it!
Ps... I have it in an old CD collection, a 6 disc set of WWII classics.

@braydenlocke55

I was so insanely exited to find it in a box of miscellaneous records for $5, best day or my life haha

I discovered this song during CA: The Winter Soldier, and it's summed up my romance and happy marriage to a longtime friend. It had literally been a long, long time that we knew one another, each of us in a difficult relationship...and suddenly we were both alone, and lonely. So, things happened...lovely things.

@jrcadet4

UPDATE: While I was working out the other morning this song began to play---and my wife, who works from home quite a bit, came into the room, enticed me off my exercise bike---and we shared, a sweet, slow dance. Lovely.

Is it weird that I’m only 17 but I miss the 1940’s in a way

@jacquelineklinges

No, it is not weird at all! I mean, I’m only 19 and I miss the old times as well. I don’t know why but it just feels like I was actually there. I am literally in love with anything that’s vintage from 1940s-1980s and medieval Celtic times, cuz I’m an old soul. So, you probably are, too, if you like old music like this. But don’t be afraid to be an old soul. It’s actually a good thing because listening to music like this is extraordinary and comforting that it just gives you such a nostalgic, rapturous feeling. 😊❤️

@drdimento

So awesome. If you ever wanna talk that era just say the word. I come just after that area born in the late 40’s, raised in the 50’s, turning teen and adult in the 60’s.

@mbh50mbh

Nothing weird about it
