They relea… Read Full Bio ↴Kara's Flowers was the name of band that came to be Maroon 5.
They released their first album, ...We Like Digging? in 1995. The album was limited to 500 copies and is now very rare.
In 1996 they were signed to a label and released The Fourth World, their only commercially available album. It did poorly on the charts, however, and after recording Stagg Street Recordings in 1999, the band changed their name to Maroon 5. They would later find success with the album Songs About Jane and the albums that followed.
Formed in Los Angeles, California, the heavily alternative rock and power pop influenced group consisted of Adam Levine (vocals/guitar), Jesse Carmichael (guitar), Mickey Madden (bass) and Ryan Dusick (drums). That would be Maroon 5's original line-up, with the addition of guitarist and songwriter James Valentine.
The members of Kara's Flowers had been friends since attending junior high school in Los Angeles, California at Brentwood School when, in 1995, they formed a grunge band named for a girl they sneaked flowers to on her birthday. They played their first gig on September 16, 1995, at the 'Whisky A Go-Go'. Perhaps as a sign of the smooth pop rock and rnb sounds that the group would later take in as Maroon 5, Kara's Flowers evolved to more and more of a modern rock and power pop sound as it played on.
The band signed with Reprise Records and released its first and only album, 'The Fourth World', in the middle of 1997. Despite support slots on tours by Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger, the album failed to take off commercially up to expectations. Still, it garnered a large fan following and praising critical reviews. In 1999, the band parted company with Reprise Records. During the 2000 to 2001 period, the band incorporated guitarist and songwriter James Valentine, wrote a batch of new songs, and adopted a new name. Over the 00s and 10s, the work released under the Kara's Flowers title has continued to be promoted by fans.
If I Fell
Kara's Flowers Lyrics

Would you promise to be true
And help me understand
'Cause I've been in love before
And I've found that love was more
Than just holding hands
If I give my heart to you
That you would love me more than her
If I trust in you
Oh now please, don't run and hide
If I love you, too
Oh please, don't hurt my pride like her
'Cause I couldn't stand the pain
And I would be sad if our new love was in vain
So I hope you'll see
That I would love to love you
And that she will cry
When she learns we are two
'Cause I couldn't stand the pain
And I would be sad if our new love was in vain
So I hope you'll see
That I would love to love you
And that she will cry
When she learns we are two
If I fell in love with you, yeah
The song "If I Fell" by Kara's Flowers is a cover of a classic Beatles song from their 1964 album "A Hard Day's Night". The lyrics revolve around the concept of falling in love and the vulnerability that comes with it. The singer is confessing their feelings for someone and is requesting assurance that their love will be reciprocated and that they won't be hurt in the process. The lyrics are straightforward in their message, asking for honesty and commitment.
The song can be interpreted as a cautionary tale about looking before one leaps. It reflects the doubts and fears that come with falling in love and how important it is to have open communication and genuine feelings. The use of "if" in the lyrics shows that the singer is uncertain of the outcome, which creates a sense of suspense and tension. The lyrics also touch upon the idea of infidelity, with the singer fearing that the person they love will hurt them like their ex did. "If I Fell" is ultimately a song about taking a risk and trusting in love.

Not many people can cover The Beatles well, but I really love this. Then again, I love Maroon 5 and The Beatles so maybe that's why I like this cover.

I usually don't like covers of Beatles songs because nothing beats the original but I REALLY enjoy this one in particular, go Adam Levine! (:
