Starting at age sixteen, Rose began work on her debut album, Because I Can, for V2 Records. The record's lead single, Overdrive, was released on October 21, 2003 with the album following on January 27, 2004. The album was met with mixed critical reception and moderate success leading to only one other single being released, I Like. In addition to this, Rose was also featured on the soundtracks of the films Mean Girls and Thirteen.
In 2005, Rose parted ways with V2 Records. She then started work on her band project, Candy Eyed, which was released on June 4, 2007 under independent record label, River Jones Music. Rose parted ways with the label shortly after the albums release for unknown reasons. Following her second partition, Rose started work on a third album titled Tangled But True. The album was expected to be released in 2009 under a new Japanese label, but was ultimately shelved. Currently Rose is in the process of recording a new album set to be released sometime this year.

Alone in my skin
Waiting for war to end
And love to win
But everybody near
Left like waves from the shore
I'd die if looks could kill
I don't know what I'm dancing for
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know what I'm dancing for
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know what I'm dancing for
It is the end
Start to begin
I won't pretend
Don't care if I win
But everybody near
Left like waves from the shore
I'd die if looks could kill
I don't know what I'm dancing for
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know what I'm dancing for
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know what I'm dancing for
The lyrics of Katy Rose's "Dancin' For" reflect a sense of uncertainty and a feeling of being lost. The singer describes her emotional state as "alone in my skin" while waiting for the end of war and the triumph of love. She feels abandoned by the people around her, who have "left like waves from the shore," and she admits that she doesn't know what she's dancing for.
The constant repetition of "I don't know" emphasizes the singer's confusion and her inability to find a clear purpose for her actions. She seems to have given up on pretending to care about winning or succeeding, and is resigned to simply dancing without knowing why.
The overall message of the song seems to be a plea for clarity and direction, a desire to understand and make sense of life's struggles. Despite the sense of hopelessness in the lyrics, there is a glimmer of optimism in the final lines: "It is the end / Start to begin." This suggests that even though things may seem bleak and uncertain, there is always the possibility of a new beginning.

@moltenriches
her first album is weird if you think about it, it's pop rock yet it's also quite progressive in some songs, give it another listen and you'll see what i mean(Y)

I like her music but something about this music makes me dizzy, it reminds me of when as a kid you spin around in circles and how the music sounds then.
