Kaya began his career in 1999 as vocalist for the Shikoku based band Meties under the name Hime. They released a two song demo tape.
In 2001, he met keyboardist Hora at a concert of his band Velvet Eden, and together they formed Rudolf Steiner, once again with Hime as vocalist and lyricist. Unlike most Visual Kei bands, their music didn't feature any acoustic instruments, but was completely electronic. The band released two demo tapes, Perfect Garden and Queen of Decadence before, in 2002, their unique style attracted the attention of Mana (Moi dix Mois, ex-Malice Mizer), who signed them to his independent label, Midi:Nette, and changed their name to Schwarz Stein. Around the same time, Hime changed his name to Kaya.
Now thrust into the limelight, they quickly gained popularity both in the Visual Kei and the Japanese Goth scene and released two singles, Queen of Decadence and Current, as well as two albums, New Vogue Children and Artificial Halluciation, but in 2004 split up due to artistic differences.
Despite the break-up, Kaya and Hora remained on friendly terms. In April 2006, they once again collaborated on a one-off project called ANOTHER CELL and released a self-titled album, for which Hora wrote the music and Kaya most of the lyrics. Apart from brand new compositions, it also featured re-arranged versions of songs by Rudolf Steiner as well as Hora's solo project.
His first solo single Kaleidoscope was released in June of 2006. The CD was composed and produced by Kalm (ex-Velvet Eden). His second single Masquerade was released on september 6th, 2006. In December, he released his debut album, Glitter, and appeared at Kamijo's (Versailles) and Kanoma's (ex Fatima) three day Winter Romantic festival, together with bands such as Wizard, UnsraW, HIZAKI grace project and Sugar.
In February 2007 he had his first one man concert at Shibuya O-West and in April, he released his single Ouka Ryouran and performed at the Shock Wave Vol.1 event. In July he released the mini album Hyakkiyakou and a fourth single, Carmilla, followed on Halloween. He also starred as one of the protagonists alongside Sherow Artist Society musicians Kamijo, HIZAKI (Versailles, HIZAKI grace project), and Juka (ex-Moi dix Mois) in the rock musical Node of Scherzo.
His 5th solo single, Chocolat was released 23 April 2008. And again was a collaboration with his ex-bandmate, Hora, who composed all the music.

Each member of KAYA is a professional vocalist and songwriter in her own right and, together, they create music that is both lyrically and melodically compelling - if not a little cheeky and sensuous as well. In concert, KAYA performs original songs including 'Don't wanna go home', 'Lyin' and 'You move me' in addition to innovative arrangements of songs by John Butler Trio, Joni Mitchell and Bob Marley. They released their first EP in 2006, and have just released a live album in early 2007 (www.myspace.com/thekayaladies).

Kaya Lyrics

These lyrics from the song "SALOME" by Kaya delve into themes of seduction, darkness, and desire. The song paints a picture of a mysterious and provocative figure, referred to as a "dancing songstress," who captivates and entices others. The imagery evoked is one of a moonlit night, with the singer dancing in the empty space beneath a dark veil.
The first verse describes the songstress with her alluring tongue and dancing in the void, while her lascivious white fingers with painted nails hold desires. She has been searching for someone persistently with decayed and torn limbs. The lyrics suggest a sense of longing and desperation.
The chorus introduces the symbolism of a rose, which is possessed by the moon like a dream. The songstress declares that she no longer needs anything else except one thing she desires. She describes her joy at capturing and embracing the beloved, using passionate words such as "kiss" and "embrace." The lyrics also mention sin, defilement, and the desire for the beloved to take her away to a distant place.
The second verse depicts a sense of anxiety and a collapsing lung, accompanied by a plea from the songstress to be called by her name with a beloved voice. The third verse continues with images of kissing the beloved's mouth, the sensation of heat and tearing, and the insatiable desire to be desired by the songstress. The lyrics suggest that the beloved's ripe body is about to overflow.
The final two lines describe the songstress as a dancing figure in Sodom, still drowning in an undignified dream. Overall, the lyrics of "SALOME" evoke a sense of longing, passion, and darkness, portraying a seductive character on an obsessive search for fulfillment.

I prefer both of two versions of the song. What does Salome really mean? The beats make my heart pumping. Go Kaya!! continue singing.

I know its been a year but the song is based of a woman named Salome , that was around 200 AD i think. She was the daughter of Herod the II and Herodias. She once danced so beautifully that Herod said : I grant you verything to the half of my kingdom. Herodias , her mother wished death upon one person, John the Baptist who despised and called the marriage of Herod and Herodias unlawful ; she was his sister in law. So her mother persuaded her to wish upon the head of John the Baptist and she achieved her wish through Salome. Christians then depicted her as the personification of the lascivious woman, a temptress who lures men away from salvation, as well as the depiction as an icon of dangerous female seductivness. She had been described to be the personifcation of pure erotic and Ideal beauty and female cruelty but aswell being the model for the childwoman or more etablished term lolita. She was young but not a child though. Hope that helps to explain at least the backstory to Salomé :)

Salome was a girl in the bible that ordered the beheading of John the baptist. Cute shit for sure.

If you look closely, you'll see that Kaya is singing to two different guys. So it's like he sings to one on one side and the other on the other. At first, I thought it was one guy, too, but once I noticed it was two, I found it to look much more interesting.
