He previously worked in Japan with Konami and Kojima Productions on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

He then moved to the United States and, in July 2011, began working with 343 Industries on Halo 4, along with composer Neil Davidge. However, contrary to Davidge, Jinnouchi is an integral part of the studio's audio team. He composed several tracks for Halo 4: only one of his tracks was featured in Volume 1 of the Halo 4: Original Soundtrack, but nine were present in Volume 2. He also composed the music featured in the Halo Xbox One E3 announcement trailer, and is slated to compose most of the Halo 5: Guardians soundtrack

All the stories are great though, minus Halo 5's. I could easily switch H2 and H4's stories depending on how I feel. The gap between ODST and 5 is also massive.

I do think H2a's multiplayer is good on paper, but it doesn't feel quite right with the modern weapons, and it sucks that Elite players have such a blatant disadvantage because their helmets are so big compared to previous games. Also the best part of Halo 5 is easily its multiplayer, compared to the campaign, H5's multiplayer was awesome!

I've never played Halo Infinite and I can't find a Halo 4 multiplayer match in the MCC to save my life, so I unfortunately can't rank those two personally.

Yes they did. The Last Spartan from Halo 2 was pretty clearly Chief's theme -- played for H2's teaser, when Chief "gives the Covenant back their bomb", and concludes the game when Chief says the memorable "Sir, finishing this fight" line.

The main Halo theme is also pretty much his theme as it really only appears in games with Chief -- it's not the rings' theme because it plays when Chief takes down the Scarab in New Mombasa. Plus ODST, set in the same city from H2 but without Chief, does not utilize the main theme.

Chief, on the other hand, has never seemed to struggle too much (in game, not in the books) except against the Didact and maybe the Warden and the Guardians (ewww). Master Chief was even more badass in halo 4 than he was before, they literally set him up as the bigger, better spartan, like he was unique and irreplaceable and then in halo 5, all the spartans are the same height, locke is just a little less effective than Chief and they screw all the story up… Such a waste, Halo 4 was good, so far, in my head, the story stops at the end of halo 4. We'll see for halo infinite

I'd see it as this. Maybe sugar coating the fight between Chief and Locke but I think Chief didn't want to fight Locke the first place, he values the life of another soldier. That was he seemed "hesitant", to me at least, during the fight, had he not, Locke would've turned into mashed potato.

Plus marine jettroopers. Big battles with anywhere from 10-60 AI fighting at a time. A return of Spartan OPs and firefight. Except you get a squad of ODST with full health to assist you and a new squad is dropped off after every set is over. You can also play as Covenant in firefight during vs firefight.

UNSC gets Mechs on it's side too. Covenant gets yanme again. Flood return and are like they were in halo 3. You get to see Flood fight Insurrectionist, ally Elites fight Remnant forces, Remnant forces fight Sentinels, Prometheans fight Flood, etc.

@@PBRatLord i just replayed it after 8 years, i got it on release on 360 and theres lots i could name that i liked better in the previous titles, but finishing it after so many years on legendary i enjoyed it, sad that so many areas had bland music or no music at all, this theme and the didacts theme are the only pieces of music i wont forget. for this game i especially like sprint even tho so many claim it runs the game, one thing i love about h4 is the movement actually, its crisp and satisfying alot more than one would expect. anyways thats just my opinion on it, just felt like typing something this morning haha.

Halo 4 is such an underrated game. It serves as the perfect epilogue to the original trilogy, and has some of the best music in the franchise between 117, Green and Blue, and Arrival.

I wish 343 never brought Cortana back, let alone make her evil - it tarnished her sacrifice. Just hoping that turns out to not be the real Cortana, maybe a rampant fragment of her or something.

What impresses me most as an Sony fanboy is that Halo 4 was a great game in every aspect, especially for the story.

So we somewhat disliked it...until Halo 5 came along which absolutely butchered the series and 4 is seen in a better light (rightfully so). I personally really liked 4's story and I think it's 343's best Halo campaign from a narrative perspective, but even then it's not as replayable as a game as Halo 1-3 are. It fleshes out Chief more as a character along with his relationship to Cortana, but the Didact villain and promethean race were kinda generic, not fun to fight, and lacked personality the Covenant had.

It’s problems campaign wise was the terrible linearity, ammunition basically having a famine, and making it where the enemy AI served distinct “roles”.

Every enemy had a role, a purpose, and a strategy to beat them, alongside attacks that were cued so you could dodge them. The removal of that really hurt the gameplay.

Halo 5 was disappointing at most but I don't understand why halo 4 was so disliked it has a terrific story of sharing more of the relation ship chief and Cortana have and that chief isn't just a suit of armour but a human being he just never knew what it was like to have a childhood and not having a decent childhood effects you as an adult and that's what chief experiences later on not having a way with words and just sounding so dark.

This has to be one of my favorite Halo songs. While I can’t really say that I prefer it over the legendary, iconic work of Marty Odonell (praised be his name), this song manages to take the sound of Halo and truly evolve it (see what I did there?) into something unique that really should have defined the entire Reclaimer Saga. I really hope 343 doesn’t leave this masterpiece behind with Infinite, because I can vividly imagine the classic Halo theme transitioning into this, and it is awesome.

Orders that the Spartan II's cannot break unless told to do so by the UNSC's top the Chairman Chief of Naval Operations, which up until Halo 5 was Admiral Lord Terance Hood, which we meet in Halo 2. As much as I love the original scores to the first 3 games, this is another level of ambition and its exemplified best by '117'. Jorge Perez I think 343 dropped the ball. Master chief is a super soldier whit almost no personality, he's a tool, a weapon. But he does feel for cortana and in the Don cortana tells him that he's more than just a weapon. When halo 5 came out, chief should have been a mad man, it would've made a great character arc. Like he hopes to having no feelings at, suffers a great loss and then just completely switches. 343 tried to go this route but they never really committed to it. They justified chief's actions in halo 5 and that's where I think they messed up

Departing from older Halo's soundtrack was a good move IMO, it brought a breath of fresh air to a soundtrack that mostly stayed pretty similar for the past 3 main games except from ODST and Reach, and both got a superior soundtrack compared to the rest of the Bungie era games. (Heck, you could even take and swap music between halo 1-2-3 and not notice anything)

Jesus Christ. Hard to believe this game came out 9 years ago. I remember playing this game as a wee baby, due to my parents being Halo fanatics. Reach was my first Halo game, I loved the hell out of it, and then 4 hit the market. The very first thing I did was listen to the main menu theme for about 5 minutes, mesmerized by it's beauty. Then I played the campaign. I first noticed THIS theme when you fly the Broadsword through the Didact's ship. I stopped paying attention to the obstacles ahead of me and just listened. I died several times over, but the plus side was being able to listen to the theme longer. Gives me hope. Such a beautiful piece.

Underrated theme. It's not like the original music, but hell if it's not a great score that brings fresh blood into the mix. It's a deeper, more personal ode to John in particular, it humanises him and hints of his deeper nature as a person, which underscores what halo 4 was about. While this is different from Marty's classic Halo music, I think it's perfect for this story, definitely a theme of an aging warrior. A man who has saved the universe countless times, a child soldier who knows nothing but war. A child soldier who at this point has lost everyone who was close to him, Captain Keyes, Miranda, Johnson, and Cortana... the one individual who was with him through everything, the one person he truly loved and loved him back. This theme encapsulates all of this. Such a shame that Halo 5's story kind of ruined it. Here's hoping Halo Infinite will be great!

For the record, the same people that complained about 4 are the same types that were upset about Reach. Our garbage state of affairs on Halo are mainly associated with Halo 3 boomers that confused the hell out of 343 in their gane development. 4 was a amazing game coming from a H2 OG. The br expoliting boomers of 3 caused all our problems

I hate dividing Halo community like that, but yeah. It started with their design. Basically from the beginning. People refused to give them a chance.

They tried adding more lore with Spartan Ops and even made a protag character but people still refused. Whats crazier is that that character was supposed to be in Buck's place in H5, but they saw how people didnt really care about Spartan Ops and just sacked him.

Sure, I believe they should kept Chief and everything pre Infinity with Bungie stuff to be a tad bit more consistent and post be modernized, but other than that they have expanded a lot on what Halo was and most is great.

It’s clear that 343 and the composers invested a lot of work and energy into creating Halo 4’s OST. They really created some musical masterpieces. The problem was that it was way too big of a leap from the classic sound. People simply wasn’t ready for it. But now that Halo 5 is the new scapegoat of the games, Halo 4 is starting to get aknowledged way more. As for the multiplayer, that’s a whole other story

It's very cheerful, touching and full of emotions. Whenever I feel down, this soundtrack seemed to help me to get out and rise again. This is imo the best Halo soundtrack to date, period. Still listening in 2019.

This is honestly probably tied with One Final Effort as my favorite OST of all the games. In the trilogy the music sounded like an epic, something that made sense to play during a war for the sake of the universe. After the Chief made a legend of himself during the covenant war we get this, something that sounds like a military hymn made to honor the deeds of their greatest soldier who they presumed to be dead. The renditions of the Halo theme are exactly that: the theme of the rings themselves, but for whatever reason why we did not get a theme for the face of the franchise until 4 and that's why this track is so special imo.

this is by far the best track on halo 4's soundtrack. it is the most halo-sounding. might be and probably is top 5 in the entire series. it captures everything great about the halo series and makes it even more glorious.

I got into Halo but playing H4 back in 2015 before I had an Xbox One. For that I always remember it. Even though after playing all of the FPS Halo's I've decided Combat Evolved is my favorite game, I haven't decided whether I like Halo 4's "117" or CE's Main theme more. CE's is an iconic piece, but "117" is just an amazing composition that deserves more recognition
