Nothing is wront
But you didn't understand
Why I kill
I don't want to be normal
When you escape
And please promise me
That you
I don't want to be normal (What, jajaja)
I don't want to be normal (Ah, What, No)
I don't want to be normal (What, jajaja, No)
I don't want to be normal (Ah, What, No)
No quiero ser un normal
Que critican
Ya me canse de esperar
Mi libertad
I don't want to be normal
When you escape
And please promise me
That you
Will be back
I don't want to be normal (What, jajaj)
I don't want to be normal (Ah, What, No)
I don't want to be normal (What, jajaja, No)
I don't want to be normal (Ah, What, No)
Ya no puedo entender porque tu eres asi
Ya no puedo comprender por que no eres un normal aquí
Tanto te cuesta entender que lo raro no se ve
Un poco de fama ya, te falta por aprender
No has probado una mujer
Que te ayude a ser hombre
Pero no llores acá, que no hacemos eso aqui
Que no logras entender
Eres una mierda okey?
Nadie te logra querer
Pero estoy muy bien asi
I don't want to be normal (What, jajaj)
I don't want to be normal (Ah, What, No)
I don't want to be normal (What, jajaja, No)
I don't want to be normal (Ah, What, No)
The lyrics to Kenny's song "Don't Want It" suggest a deep level of inner turmoil and a rejection of societal norms. When he sings "When you try to kill myselft / nothing is wront / but you didn't understand / why I kill," he seems to be grappling with the concept of self-harm and the reasons behind it. The repetition of "I don't want to be normal" also serves as a rejection of the idea of conformity and the pressure to fit in.
The lyrics in Spanish ("No quiero ser un normal / que critican / ya me canse de esperar / mi libertad") also suggest a desire for freedom and a rejection of criticism. The lines "Tanto te cuesta entender que lo raro no se ve / Un poco de fama ya, te falta por aprender" could be interpreted as a critique of those who don't understand or appreciate individuality, and who value superficial things like fame.
Overall, the song appears to be a reflection on the struggle to exist outside of societal expectations and the pressure to conform, with a hint of defiance and a refusal to be anything other than oneself.

The emotion of this song is really harder to swallow than the reality of it. As a witness to all the denial in the world, and as a former drug and alcohol counselor and hearing all the denial wherewith in, this song hits me right in the gut, as I listen to one 'addict' talking about not needing another person in his life, as if the lie is the truth. And what's really sad about it all is that he almost believes the words he's saying- - almost! Beautiful, Kenny!

I grew up to Kenny Roger's songs. Know most of the words by heart. I love they way his songs tell a story. Good old-fashioned country. Thank you for sharing your music with the world, Kenny. Rest in peace.
